Senior Software Engineer (Frontend Focused, Fullstack)

Clearstory is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help lead the evolution of our frontend platform and customer experience. This is a high-impact role for an engineer who cares deeply about frontend architecture, product quality, and building systems that scale.

While this is a full stack role, the center of gravity is the frontend. You’ll help shape the technical direction of our React application, define frontend standards and architecture, and build the foundations that allow product teams to move quickly while maintaining a high bar for craftsmanship and reliability.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong frontend engineering expertise with product thinking and technical leadership. This is an individual contributor role with significant influence across the engineering organization. You’ll partner closely with engineering leadership, product, and design to shape both the user experience and the technical direction behind it.

As a Senior Software Engineer, You Will:

Lead frontend architecture and technical direction across our platform

Build and evolve scalable React and TypeScript application patterns

Drive improvements in frontend performance, maintainability, testing, and developer experience

Build full stack product features end-to-end

Partner closely with product and design to create polished, intuitive customer experiences

Help define engineering standards, architecture patterns, and frontend platform investments

Mentor and influence engineers through technical leadership, design reviews, and collaboration

Contribute to roadmap planning and technical strategy discussions

Help scale engineering systems and practices as the company grows

Move fast in a SOC 2–compliant environment using modern AI-assisted development workflows

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

Has deep expertise in modern frontend engineering and React application architecture

Cares deeply about product quality, usability, and frontend craftsmanship

Enjoys solving complex UI and application architecture problems

Operates with high ownership and strong engineering judgment

Communicates clearly and collaborates effectively across engineering, product, and design

Can lead through influence without needing formal management authority

Requirements

7+ years of professional software engineering experience

Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend application development

Experience designing and scaling frontend architectures for complex SaaS applications

Strong understanding of component systems, state management, frontend performance, and developer tooling

Full stack experience building production applications and APIs

Strong product instincts and customer empathy

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience leading large technical initiatives or platform-level improvements

Nice to Have

Experience building highly interactive SaaS applications

Experience with design systems or frontend platform engineering

Experience mentoring senior engineers and influencing engineering culture

Familiarity with AI-powered product experiences or AI-assisted development workflows

Experience with Golang, modern cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems
