Kentro is hiring for a remote Sr. Business Analyst to support our Veterans Affairs ESOM contract.

The Senior Business Analyst supports the CMDB and Change Control transition by leading cost-benefit assessments, evaluating functional and technical tradeoffs, and producing structured analysis that informs transition decision-making. This role bridges VA Infrastructure Operations (IO) stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring that business requirements are clearly defined and traceable throughout the transition.

Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours. Occasional travel to VA sites as required.

Responsibilities:

Lead cost-benefit assessments for transition activities, weighing functional benefits, technical performance, schedule risk, and program risk.

Elicit, document, and validate business and technical requirements from VA IO stakeholders across SCM, CMDB, and Change Control workstreams.

Analyze existing processes and identify gaps, redundancies, and improvement opportunities to inform the to-be operating model.

Produce structured analysis deliverables including requirements documentation, process assessments, and transition recommendations.

Collaborate with architects, process analysts, and the PM to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical execution.

Support POAM management and audit preparation activities, providing timely evidence and documentation for compliance reviews.

Present findings and recommendations in summary reports and oral briefings to VA and Kentro leadership.

Qualifications:

10+ years of business analysis experience on federal IT programs, with at least 3 years in an IT service management or platform operations context.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent. An additional 8 years of relevant experience can be substituted for the degree requirement for a total of 18+ years of experience.

Experience conducting cost-benefit analyses and presenting tradeoff assessments to senior government stakeholders.

Strong understanding of IT service management concepts (ITSM, CMDB, Change Management) in a large enterprise environment.

Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data and operational information into clear, executive-ready deliverables.

Proficiency with requirements documentation and process modeling tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience on VA IT programs or within the Department of Veterans Affairs enterprise.

Familiarity with ServiceNow SPM, CMDB, or Change Management modules.

CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent business analysis certification.

Experience supporting POAM management or federal compliance review activities.

Clearance Requirement:

US Citizen or Green card holder

Willing and able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
