Position Overview

As Viatris continues to its portfolio of innovative and value-added medicines, we are seeking a strategic and experienced Market Access leader to drive our efforts across two key Latin American markets: Brazil and Mexico.

This Director-level role will lead Market Access in one primary market (Brazil preferred) while also overseeing and supporting Market Access strategy in Mexico. In addition, the role may contribute to coordination across the broader Latin America region, ensuring alignment of strategies and sharing of best practices.

The role is critical for driving national strategies for pricing, reimbursement, and market access across the full product lifecycle—from pipeline to post-launch optimization—while enabling functional integration and a shared resources model across markets.

The position will be responsible for developing and executing tailored access strategies and evidence packages for both markets, ensuring effective positioning with key national decision-makers. This includes preparation of HTA submissions, pricing dossiers, and value evidence—supported by robust health economic argumentation—for authorities in Brazil (e.g., CONITEC, CMED, ANVISA), as well as the development of targeted evidence packages to support Compendio inclusion and institutional decision-making in Mexico, engaging key stakeholders such as COFEPRIS, CSG, and major public payers (e.g., IMSS, ISSSTE).

The role reports into the Global Market Access function, with close alignment to local and regional Corporate Affairs and Commercial leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Design and lead integrated Market Access strategies for the primary market (Brazil or Mexico), while providing strategic oversight and guidance for the second key market.

Ensure alignment of pricing, reimbursement, and access strategies across both markets, leveraging synergies and shared approaches where appropriate.

Lead preparation and execution of HTA and pricing submissions to relevant authorities (e.g., CONITEC, CMED in Brazil; CSG/Compendio processes and institutional pathways in Mexico).

Navigate the procurement-driven Mexican access model, ensuring successful formulary inclusion and institutional uptake in addition to regulatory approval.

Oversee price governance, shaping pricing corridors, value frameworks, and reimbursement conditions aligned with global and regional strategies.

Ensure proactive lifecycle ownership of portfolio pricing, including risk mitigation for price erosion and identification of optimization opportunities.

Support selective coordination of Market Access activities across Latin America, ensuring consistency, knowledge sharing, and efficient use of resources.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, Policy, HEOR, and Global Pricing teams to ensure launch readiness and access success across both markets.

Provide local and regional input into global value dossiers, economic models, and evidence generation plans, ensuring relevance for Brazil and Mexico.

Act as Market Access lead on cross-functional launch and lifecycle teams.

Required Qualifications

Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, public health, health economics, or a related field.

Minimum of 8–10 years of Market Access experience in Brazil and/or Mexico, with strong expertise in at least one of these markets.

Direct experience with pricing and reimbursement processes (e.g., CONITEC, CMED in Brazil and/or CSG/Compendio and institutional access pathways in Mexico).

Strong understanding of HEOR principles, health economic models, and evidence strategies supporting pricing and access decisions.

Demonstrated success in access strategy development and launch execution for innovative medicines.

Deep understanding of healthcare and reimbursement systems in Brazil and/or Mexico, including public and private sectors.

Experience working in matrix environments and leading cross-country or regional initiatives.

Desired Attributes

Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.

Strong interpersonal, leadership, and negotiation skills.

Fluent in English and either Portuguese or Spanish (fluency in both is strongly preferred).

Collaborative and results-driven mindset with high ethical standards.

Comfortable operating across multiple markets and cultures.

Willingness to travel within Latin America and occasionally internationally.

What We Offer

A unique opportunity to shape Market Access across two of the most important markets in Latin America.

A purpose-driven culture focused on improving patient access and outcomes.

Exposure to regional strategy and leadership responsibilities.

Competitive compensation and benefits, along with flexible work arrangements.

At Viatris, we offer competitive salaries, benefits and an inclusive environment where you can use your experiences, perspectives and skills to help make an impact on the lives of others.
