Position Details

Position: Preschool Teacher

Schedule: Part-Time or Full-Time

Expected Hours: 35–40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities Create Meaningful Learning Experiences

Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

Utilize play-based and hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Foster early literacy, language, math, science, and social-emotional learning skills through daily classroom activities.

Build a Positive Classroom Culture

Create a nurturing, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment where every child feels safe and respected.

Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior, independence, and cooperation.

Encourage children to develop confidence, self-expression, and healthy relationships with peers and teachers.

Support Child Development

Observe, assess, and document children's progress and developmental milestones.

Adapt learning experiences to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each child.

Promote healthy physical development through movement, outdoor play, and age-appropriate physical activities.

Partner with Families

Maintain open, professional communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, achievements, and developmental goals.

Build strong partnerships with families to support each child's success both at school and at home.

Ensure Health and Safety

Maintain compliance with all state licensing requirements, health regulations, and safety standards.

Help create an environment that celebrates diversity, inclusion, and respect for all children and families.

QualificationsRequired

Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or equivalent state-required qualifications.

Previous experience working in a preschool, childcare, or early childhood education setting.

Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Preferred

Experience with curriculum planning and implementation.

Knowledge of early childhood assessment and developmental screening tools.

Experience supporting children from diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day.

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when necessary.

Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor classroom activities.
