Internship - Embedded Software Area
Join our team and build the furure of space technology
We´re expanding our team at Alén Space, and are looking for an Embedded Software Engineering Intern; with passion in what you do, talented and experienced; to collaborate in the development, integration, and validation of onboard software for different missions and company products, working under the guidance of experienced engineers.
The Software Engineering Area is responsible for the design, implementation, and validation of flight software for the space segment, as well as control software components for the ground segment.
What you will be doing?
Support the gathering and analysis of technical and user requirements for embedded software projects.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of software development documentation and technical specifications.
Participate in the development, integration, and testing of embedded software and firmware.
Collaborate with the engineering team on software analysis and design activities under supervision.
Support software and system validation campaigns (TLYF or E2E).
Contribute to troubleshooting activities and continuous improvement initiatives related to software development processes and tools.
What do we need in our team
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Interest in embedded software development and programming in C/C++.
Strong motivation to learn and grow professionally within the aerospace sector.
Familiarity with Linux environments.
Good command of English, both written and spoken.
Basic knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
Interest in working with hardware and laboratory equipment (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
Valuable knowledge:
Embedded Linux development using Buildroot or Yocto.
Experience with Python or other programming languages.
Familiarity with FreeRTOS or other real-time operating systems.
Interest in space systems and safety-critical applications.
Basic understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts.
Participation in academic, personal, or extracurricular projects related to embedded systems.

Work remotely a percentage of the time to be defined with the manager
