Job Summary

Simple Connect Engineering is looking for a Mid-Level Robot Engineer or Robot Technician to support automotive and manufacturing automation projects. This role is focused on robot programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, touch-ups, recovery, cycle time improvement, and production support.

The ideal candidate has approximately 5 years of experience with Fanuc, KUKA, or ABB robots and is comfortable working at customer sites in launch, commissioning, or production environments.

Responsibilities

Support robot programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and production support.

Perform robot touch-ups, path adjustments, recovery, and process optimization.

Work with robot TCPs, frames, zones, safety areas, DCS or equivalent safety configurations, and setup tools.

Support robot-to-PLC communication troubleshooting.

Assist with installation, start-up, dry cycle, wet cycle, runoff, and production ramp-up.

Troubleshoot robot faults, process faults, communication issues, and equipment recovery problems.

Support cycle time improvements and robot path optimization.

Work with customer engineering, maintenance, production, controls, and project teams.

Report daily progress, open issues, and completed work to the customer and internal team.

Travel to customer sites as required.

Required Qualifications

Approximately 5 years of robot programming, robot technician, automation, or commissioning experience.

Experience with at least one of the following robot platforms: Fanuc, KUKA, or ABB.

Robot programming experience is required.

Experience with TCP setup, touch-ups, zones, robot frames, setup wizards, and path adjustments.

Basic understanding of PLC-to-robot communication.

Commissioning experience in manufacturing or production environments.

Ability to troubleshoot robot faults and automation issues.

Willingness to travel to customer sites.

Ability to work well with engineering, maintenance, and production teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Automotive manufacturing experience.

Experience with Fanuc DCS, KUKA SafeOperation, ABB SafeMove, or similar robot safety systems.

2D & 3D IR Vision

Experience with weld, material handling, sealing, dispensing, machine tending, or vision-guided robotic applications.

Experience supporting launch, runoff, installation, and cycle time improvement.

Work Authorization / Visa Support Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the assignment location. Simple Connect does not provide H-1B sponsorship. TN work authorization support may be considered for eligible Canadian or Mexican professional candidates where the position, credentials, and assignment meet TN/USMCA requirements. For Canada-based project work, candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
