About the role
The Senior Accountant maintains agency accounting records, prepares related reports, and handles other financial transactions in accordance with prescribed Agency procedure and accepted accounting principles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Observe the confidential nature of the Agency’s service to its clients.
Communicate frequently with clients, program managers, auditors, and other agencies.
Assist in external and internal audits.
Reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries.
Record accounts receivable in Financial Edge.
Record payments in SmartCare.
Complete billing, aging review, and collection
Responsible for managing the process of invoices generated outside of EHR and CRM by updating our accounting system Financial Edge.
Assist in developing and implementing systems and procedures as necessary, including computer applications to meet changing conditions and requirements, using proper documentation and control methods.
High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and reporting requirements.
Strong verbal and written skills for explaining financial terms to non-financial stakeholders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
(3) or more years of related accounting experience, including practical application of accounting theory.
Knowledge of SmartCare or EHR systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience with ERP software.
Knowledge of UKG or other time keeping systems.
Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Preferred:
3–5+ years of accounting experience, with non-profit experience.

Compensation: The starting compensation for this position is between $70,000 - $75,000 based on experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
