Treasury Analyst

We are now looking for a Treasury Analyst to join our team in Sunderland. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their treasury career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Treasury Manager, you will support the day-to-day operational activities of the Treasury function. You’ll play a key role in managing liquidity, processing payments, maintaining treasury systems, and ensuring accurate reporting across the Group.

Working within Arriva’s In-House Bank (IHB), you will contribute to ensuring efficient treasury operations, strong controls, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Support day-to-day treasury operations including liquidity, funding, FX, payments, forecasting, and reporting

Manage the daily liquidity position, highlighting risks such as overdrafts, funding requirements, and payment needs

Perform bank reconciliations and analyse Treasury transactions within the Treasury Management System (TMS)

Produce and distribute monthly statements for In-House Bank (IHB) counterparties

Process payments via TMS and banking platforms, including BACS, payroll, treasury, and ad-hoc payments

Maintain and administer the TMS, including users, reports, dashboards, and data accuracy

Support all treasury reporting requirements, ensuring outputs are accurate, auditable, and delivered on time

Respond to internal and external treasury queries, including KYC requirements

Support annual compliance programmes and internal control processes

Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance reporting efficiency

Ensure compliance with Arriva Treasury policy and regulatory requirements

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline

Studying towards or holding a recognised qualification (e.g. AMCT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)

Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in treasury or a banking environment

Exposure to cash management, forecasting, and financial analysis

Skills & Knowledge

Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

Advanced Excel skills and good MS Office proficiency

Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams

Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop

Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of ION Reval or similar treasury systems is desirable but not essential
