Human Resources Manager
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager who will support and manage all Human Resources duties. The ideal candidate will be proactive, strategic, and have experience in handling a wide range of human resources tasks, including supporting our teams across multiple states. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, must have excellent attention to detail, is able to work independently with little or no supervision, and enjoys the challenges of supporting a company of diverse people. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for performing and managing HR related duties on a professional level and will work closely with our Senior Team. This position will report to the Director of People Operations and will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employment, onboarding, offboarding, policy creation and implementation, benefits management, employee relations, investigations, worker’s compensation, and employee law compliance.
Performance Responsibilities:
Manages Human Resources for the company by maintaining company policies, updating company handbooks, maintaining employee files, assisting with payroll, supporting daily operations, onboarding, orientation, training new employees, benefits management, and other procedures as necessary
Develops and streamlines company policies and procedures, and ensures they are implemented appropriately after approval
Ensures all files are complete and organized as expected by Senior Team
Supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department
Leads compliance with Unions and fosters excellent Union relationships
Manages the onboarding processes
Acts as an employee relations specialist
Assist the development of HR processes, policies, and systems
Liaise with employees, supervisors, managers, and co-workers in problem resolution
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
Ensures compliance with I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; Periodically audits Forms I-9
Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner
Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employee and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes
Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process.
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
10+ years of Human Resources experience including 5+ years direct involvement in employee relations
Strong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, problem solving, and creative thinking skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task with attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; expert level with Excel
Self-motivated, team player with excellent people skills
High level of discretion with confidential material
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have valid driver's license
Must participate in pre-employment and random drug screening program.
