About the role
Mountain Home seeks a full-time Human Resources Manager (HR Manager) to support
the strategy of and provide daily management for the human resources functions of
recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, compensation, and
training in an evolving human services organization. The HR Manager will work closely with our HR team to develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices
rooted in equity, diversity, and inclusion that stand out among Montana’s nonprofit
sector. They will further empower a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement to nurture the advancement of Mountain Home’s mission.
The position best suits an individual with a college degree in Public Administration,
Nonprofit Administration, Business Management, Human Resources, etc., and at least three years of related work experience.
Status: Non-Exempt, Non-Shift, Full-time, 32 hours/week
Pay Range: $22.00 - $28.00 hourly, based on years of experience, education, training

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
General
Administer and manage Mountain Home’s HR database (BambooHR currently)
Review current HR systems and practices and explore, and ultimately implement, new systems based on organizational needs
Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining policies and procedures related
to the role
Assist in implementing safety policies and practices related to the role
Maintain and develop professional relationships with community partners
recruiting opportunities related to role
As applicable, understand relevant laws related to personnel management and
help ensure all HR processes and actions comply with these laws
Provide transparent, timely, and effective communication to all necessary
stakeholders regarding policies, procedures, practices, etc.
Recruitment & Hiring
Develop and continuously update recruiting and hiring practices to improve the
applicant and employee experience
Maintain a job description template and current job descriptions for all positions
Assist with developing and implementing targeted recruitment strategies to
ensure a robust and diverse applicant pool for all openings
Manage the hiring process to ensure consistency across departments and
appropriate communication among program, administrative, and fiscal staff
Serve in a lead or collaborator capacity for the hiring process as needed
Compensation & Benefits
Assist with the developing, evaluating, and updating of Mountain Home’s
complete compensation and benefits plan
Manage eligibility and enrollment for all employees for all health, wellness,
retirement, and time off benefits
Work closely with Mountain Home’s insurance broker to stay informed of what to
expect in the coming months/year, and be proactive in planning for changes
Training & Development
Provide orientation to all new staff members and ensure department and/or
program-level onboarding plans are standardized and effective
Update annually the all-staff training calendar, ensuring that required training is
current, relevant, diverse, and progressive
Assist with the professional development request and approval process
Train, coach, and support managers to navigate evaluation, training, promotion,
discipline, termination, and other HR issues
Share, seek feedback, and provide training to managers on policies and
procedures
Performance Management & Termination
Assist with designing and implementing an enhanced performance management
system for employee evaluation that addresses achievement and areas of
improvement
Assist in leading respectful and planned discussions around discipline,
termination, and other HR issues directly with employees
Help employees navigate difficult situations with supervisors and coworkers
Assist in the management of employee complaints, rumors, gossip, and
grievances
Maintain employee discipline templates to serve as consistent and formal
documentation of performance management issues
Develop and continuously update termination procedures and practices to
improve the employee experience
Assist in managing the termination process to ensure consistency across
departments and appropriate communication among relevant staff
Employee Engagement & Organizational Culture
Develop genuine and trusting relationships with all employees while maintaining
professional boundaries, confidentiality, and emotional regulation
Assist in setting the tone of the organizational culture
Lead/participate in assigned committees related to the role
Provide transparent, timely, and effective communication to all necessary
stakeholders regarding role-related events, opportunities, celebrations, etc.

100% of paperwork is completed on time, to standard, and in compliance BHR Employee Satisfaction Surveys indicate a score of 25 or higher
BHR Employee Wellbeing Surveys indicate a 3.5 score or higher
Employee turnover is at or below 25% for any 12 months
