JOB SUMMARY

The Foster Parent Recruiter works closely with the Home Finding Supervisor assisting with the recruiting, opening, and maintaining Foster Homes.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Obtain National Training & Development & Curriculum training (NTDC) Certification.

Primarily responsible for conducting regularly scheduled Foster Parent recruitment events.

Assist the Home Finding team to conduct the NTDC training to prospective foster parents.

Collect the necessary paperwork to ensure potential foster parents are cleared.

Assist Home Finding team when ever needed by writing home study reports, conduct unannounced home visits on a quarterly basis to assure foster parent homes are meeting all standards.

Participate in a rotation to provide support for foster parents 24/7.

Understand all ACS foster home certification processes.

Document all home finding documents into Connections.

Co-Lead monthly Foster Parent Meetings & training in accordance with ORR requirements.

Develop foster parent census as needed.

Participate in weekly supervision, unit, and departmental meetings.

Effectively coordinates inter and intra-agency services to clients by working as a team with the providers (foster parents, clinicians, teachers, medical, legal, FFS, CFS, CC etc.).

Establishes effective collegial relationship with Lead Case Manager, Senior Case Manager, Lead Clinician and all supervisors.

Makes meaningful contributions to agency and department programming.

Carry out the job responsibilities in a professional manner.

Complete all required training.

Mandated Reporter.

Participates in individual, group, and department supervision.

Complete all mandated ORR & Abbott House mandatory training.

Any other related duties as required.

The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to keep balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Computer – The Foster Parent Recruiter must be able to use a computer and able to learn software programs

Office Equipment- The Foster Parent Recruiter is required to operate a fax, copier, scan, and other office equipment.

Communication - The Foster Parent Recruiter needs to be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language

Writing - The Foster Parent Recruiter must be able to write in the English language using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.

Lifting - The Foster Parent Recruiter may frequently lift 0-25 lbs., occasionally lift 25-50 lbs., and rarely lift over 50 lbs.

Push/Pull - The Foster Parent Recruiter may frequently push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force, occasionally push/pull 26-45 lbs. force, and rarely push/pull over 45 lbs.

Sitting, Standing and Walking – The Foster Parent Recruiter will be required to sit, stand and walk throughout the work day.

Stooping -The Foster Parent Recruiter may occasionally stoop. This is defined as bending body downward by bending spine at the waist.

Kneeling -The Foster Parent Recruiter may occasionally kneel. This is defined as bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee(s).

Crouching - The Foster Parent Recruiter may occasionally crouch. This is defined as bending body downward and forward by bending spine and legs.

Work environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate due to talk and movement of the program participants and other co- workers. The noise level can increase on occasion due to yelling or screaming by the participants of the programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

HS diploma required

Excellent writing and communication skills including proficiency both written and oral in Spanish and English.

Candidates must have demonstrated ability to reach out and work with community resources and foster parents.

Driver’s License
