About the Role
We are looking for one experienced independent recruiter to serve as our exclusive recruiting partner. This is not a vendor relationship. You will work directly with the hiring manager, receive detailed role briefs, and operate as a trusted extension of our team.
The majority of roles are technical positions. Occasionally, you will source sales or subject matter expert roles in healthcare IT or genomics.
Because you are our only active sourcing channel, we run no parallel pipelines. No LinkedIn sourcing, no Indeed postings running alongside your search. Every open role comes to you first and exclusively.
What You Will Do
Source, screen, and submit qualified candidates for active Bitscopic openings. Conduct substantive recruiter screens before any candidate reaches our hiring manager. Understand our technical and domain requirements well enough to filter for genuine fit, not just keyword matches. Manage candidate communication through our six-stage process: recruiter screen, hiring manager review, staff screen, two technical interviews, engineering manager interview, and final hiring manager interview. Represent Bitscopic accurately and professionally to every candidate you engage.
What We Are Looking For
You have placed software engineers before, ideally in federal, healthcare, or life sciences environments. You run a structured screening process, not a spray-and-pray pipeline. You ask hard questions early and cut candidates who do not fit before they consume our team's time. You communicate clearly, move fast, and do not disappear mid-search.
Experience with any of the following is a strong plus: federal government contractors, VA or DoD adjacent roles, bioinformatics, genomics, or clinical informatics hiring.
Compensation Structure
This is a flat-fee engagement. No percentage of base salary. Here is exactly how it works.
$7,500 per successful placement, paid in two equal installments. $3,750 paid on the candidate's start date. $3,750 paid on day 90 of employment. If the candidate does not reach day 90, the second payment does not trigger.
Two performance bonuses are available on every placement.
Speed bonus of $1,000 if Bitscopic extends a written offer within 14 calendar days of the final hiring manager interview. This bonus holds us accountable too. When you bring the right candidate, we move.
Quality bonus of $1,500 if the hire comes from four or fewer candidates who reach the final hiring manager interview stage for that role. The market average is five to seven. Beating that threshold signals you pre-screened properly.
Total upside per placement: $10,000 on a clean, fast, well-run search.
Why This Works Despite the Flat Fee
A percentage-fee client who takes six months to decide and rejects nine out of ten submittals is worth less in real terms than a flat-fee client who closes in two weeks. We commit to fast decisions, direct hiring manager access, clear role briefs, and no competing pipelines. You will never wonder whether your candidate is competing against someone else we sourced quietly on the side.
For an independent recruiter with six to eight placements per year from a single client, this structure produces $60,000 to $80,000 in annual income with no business development cost on your end. The bonuses are real and achievable, not aspirational.
