Who We Are

Connected Technologies is an intelligent building infrastructure company with 30 years of history and a portfolio spanning hundreds of properties across the United States. We design, install, and support the technology systems that make buildings work - fiber optics, data networks, managed Wi-Fi, access control, security cameras, audio and video, and the life safety and wireless systems most contractors can’t touch: Public Safety ERRCS/BDA, in-building cellular DAS, and cloud-managed access control.

We are based just outside Atlanta in Athens, GA, operate primarily across the Southeast, and are entering an aggressive growth phase. We’re looking for the person who builds the sales engine that takes us there.

The Opportunity

We are experienced technicians who are good at what we do. We have 30 years of history, a strong reputation, and three specialty service lines that most of our competitors can’t offer. What we have never had is a dedicated salesperson.

This is that role.

You will prospect, build relationships, and close deals personally - no team to hand off to in year one, no inherited pipeline to coast on. You will also build the process and collateral that scales when the team grows underneath you. If you have spent your career as the top performer at someone else’s company and want to own the outcome rather than just contribute to it, this is worth a conversation.

What You’ll Own

Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close across target verticals: multifamily, conventional and student housing, hospitality, senior living, healthcare, commercial construction, and corporate facilities

Build and manage relationships with general contractors, developers, property managers, building owners, and architects across Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama

Use construction pipeline tools - Construct Connect, Dodge, or equivalent - to identify projects early and get on bid lists before the competition

Build and maintain a CRM-based pipeline with accurate forecasting and weekly reporting to the COO

Develop repeatable sales collateral - capability decks, case studies, proposal templates - that can onboard future sales hires

Represent Connected Technologies at industry events, trade associations, and in the market daily

The Commission Structure

Base salary: $90,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and existing relationships

Commission: Percentage of gross profit on new revenue you personally generate, uncapped

Override: Additional percentage on revenue from reps you hire and manage as the team scales

We recognize that strong candidates are leaving an established pipeline to join us. We offer a structured ramp compensation plan including a draw against commission during the pipeline build period. Details discussed in the first conversation.

A candidate who builds $4M-$6M in new non-anchor revenue by year two is earning well above $200,000

We will be transparent about the full structure in the first conversation. No surprises.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

7-10 years of B2B sales experience with a verifiable track record of personally closing business and meeting or exceeding annual revenue targets

Experience selling into commercial construction, building technology, systems integration, managed IT, low voltage, AV, security, or adjacent services

Existing relationships with general contractors, developers, or property managers in the Southeast - this is the most important line on your resume

Demonstrated ability to build a pipeline from scratch in a market without an established brand presence

Comfortable using CRM platforms, construction data tools, and proposal software - specific platforms can be learned

Strongly preferred:

Prior experience as a first sales hire or in a build-from-scratch sales role

Familiarity with any of the following: structured cabling, in-building wireless, ERRCS/BDA, access control, DAS, managed Wi-Fi, or MSP services

Experience eventually building and managing a sales team

Comfort working directly with a COO or ownership team in an entrepreneurial environment

What Success Looks Like

90 days: Pipeline established, GC and developer relationships mapped and engaged, CRM active, first proposals submitted

6 months: First new non-anchor contracts closed, sales playbook drafted, activity KPIs consistently met

12 months: $2M+ in new revenue closed or committed, team hire justified by pipeline volume

24 months: $4M-$6M in new revenue, first sales rep hired, you are managing a team and still closing
