Technical Account Manager - Managed Service Provider
About the role
WiseGuyz, Inc. is a dynamic, owner-operated Managed IT services provider supporting SMB clients across Southern California. We are growing and actively building out our AI implementations and strategic client advisory services. We're looking for a rock-star Technical Account Manager who thrives on building strong client relationships, driving operational excellence, and helping lead our push into AI services.
This is not a sales role. It’s a client relations and technical advisory position. You’ll own client relationships end-to-end, act as their trusted technical advisor, and serve as the critical bridge between clients and our support/engineering teams. You’ll have significant autonomy and report to the owner.
What You’ll Do
Own the full portfolio of client accounts (starting with a few key clients and gradually expanding) with a laser focus on retention and satisfaction, especially our major renewals.
Conduct regular client meetings to review projects, weekly and monthly support reports, roadmap future needs, and provide guidance on IT best practices.
Join daily support team standups and engineering meetings to stay fully looped in on tickets, projects, and delivery. Improve our reporting and dashboards for both clients and internal leadership.
Act as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, building trust, handling escalations, and ensuring seamless communication.
Lead our AI services initiative, consulting with clients on AI opportunities, implementation strategies, and helping turn this into a major new revenue stream.
Collaborate closely with support technicians and engineers to keep projects on track and deliverables high-quality.
Help drive continuous improvement in how we report and present value to clients.
What We’re Looking For
Strong technical acumen in Managed IT environments (Microsoft 365, cloud, networking, cybersecurity fundamentals, and AI). You don’t need to be a deep engineer, but you must understand how things work so you can credibly advise clients. Bonus if you have engineering experience and enjoy getting in the trenches.
Proven experience managing client relationships in IT services, MSP, or similar technical account management roles (previous MSP experience is a big plus but not required). We are also open to strong candidates with no direct experience in this exact role if they are ready to step up.
Exceptional emotional intelligence, organization, integrity, and a fun, professional personality that builds instant rapport.
Proactive, high-ownership mindset, you see problems and fix them before they escalate.
Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment while being comfortable with occasional onsite client visits across Orange County.
Bonus points if you have experience with AI tools, reporting dashboards, or vCIO-style advisory work.
