Job Description: Quality Engineer / Procurement Quality Assurance

QARMS seeks a highly experienced and skilled Quality Engineer (QE) / Procurement Quality Assurance (PQA) Engineer.

The selected QE / PQA Engineer will support mandatory quality inspections, procurement quality processes, and investigate and determine root causes of product failures, as requested, to ensure processes adhere to standards of quality and efficiency for the contract in support of production and testing activities.

Work Location: Houston, TX, Johnson Space Center (JSC)

Responsibilities:

· The QE / PQA Engineer shall provide Inspections to examine products and processes, ensuring compliance with all pertinent contract standards and specifications.

· The QE / PQA Engineer shall perform Receiving Inspections to assist in the inspection of incoming materials and components, to verify their quality prior to their integration into production line.

· The QE / PQA Engineer shall provide Procurement Quality Assurance to assist in the assurance that the quality of materials and services procured meet the contract requirements.

· Interpretation of schematics and quality requirements

· Collaboration with other engineers and cross-functional resources as required

· Leadership in the preparation, review, and approval of specific quality documents. These documents shall include, but are not be limited to manufacturing procedures, drawings, procurement specifications, Qualification Test Procedures (QTP), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents, program quality plans, special process procedures, and training documents

· Generation of procedures and controls required to ensure that all quality requirements are met

· Coordination and drive to closure cross-functional reviews of issues, incoming material inspections, and Quality Issue Tracker (QIT) for customer reported field issues

· Evaluation of requirements for inspection equipment, tooling, and/or test equipment to meet specifications

· Monitoring of inspection and functional test data

· Participation in compliance and process audits, both internal and external

Minimum Qualifications:

· MUST HAVE NASA EXPERIENCE

. Minimum 4 years of electronic engineering and procurement quality experience

· Analog and digital circuit understanding

· Solid understanding of marketing requirements, regulatory standards, and customer use cases

· Excellent communication and organizational skills

The candidate provide in their resume PQA experience of the following:

Vendor Qualification (Supplier Management): Pre-screening suppliers through audits, capability assessments, and compliance checks to verify their ability to deliver consistent quality.

Pre-Production Planning: Defining clear technical specifications, inspection levels, and establishing frameworks like the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.

In-Process Monitoring: Reviewing fabrication or production processes to catch deviations before final assembly.

Testing and Inspection (Quality Control): Conducting rigorous testing, sampling, and Final Acceptance Tests (FAT) for incoming materials.

Continuous Improvement: Managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to address root causes of defects and prevent recurrence.

Education: Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or other sciences with 4 or more years related experience (electronics manufacturing environment preferred) or 10 years related experience.
