About the Role

Platform Science is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to join our Legacy team. In this role, you will support and maintain two critical legacy applications slated for eventual sunset. You will directly contribute to the stability, performance, and operational continuity of these applications while managing the transition to newer solutions, ensuring essential business functions remain uninterrupted.

Essential Responsibilities

Maintain our existing Legacy solutions to ensure our customers have a great experience while we plan its sunset

Develop and maintain new integrations to new systems to ensure smooth transition from customers from the legacy system to the next gen system

Apply software engineering best practices, guaranteeing the deliverables’ stability, performance and quality

Contribute to the strategic sunsetting plan for these applications, including data migration and knowledge transfer

Required experience

Communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

Extensive API software development experience with Node.Js, Python or similar

UI software development experience with React or similar

Experience with at least one Relational or Non-Relational database (Postgres, MySQL, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Redis, etc)

Cloud software development (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Test Automation experience (Unit and Integration)

Will be considered a plus

AI tools like Claude Code, Gemini or Anthropic

Experience with Event-Driven systems

Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar)

Holistic quality assurance (End-to-End, Performance, etc.)

Streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ)

Serverless computing (Lambda, SQS, Step Functions)
