Position Summary
The Human Resources & Compliance Manager is responsible for managing HR tasks while ensuring full compliance with employment laws, safety regulations, and industry-specific requirements. This role manages acquisition, employee relations and performance management, while also ensuring compliance across HR, safety, and regulatory functions.
This position supports people, processes, and compliance standards across all 10 locations, supporting both operational excellence and a strong, safety-driven culture. This is a full-time, onsite position operating from Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30pm.
Essential Functions:
Standardizing HR policies, procedures, and practices across all locations
Lead HR initiatives that improve employee engagement, retention, and performance
Oversee recruiting efforts for all positions, from warehouse staff, CDL delivery drivers, to specialized industry specific roles (e.g., nuclear, specialty gas)
Implement effective onboarding, offboarding, & safety training programs to ensure compliance and productivity from day one
Provide guidance and resolution for employee relations issues, investigations, and disciplinary actions
Assist with market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive pay and benefits
Assist with payroll coordination and benefits administration
Ensure employees are properly trained in SOPs, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Maintain employee records, documentation, and reporting in compliance with legal standards
Promote a strong safety culture across all operations
Ensure proper safety training, certifications, and recordkeeping
Collaborate with operations and safety team to reduce workplace risks
Ensure consistent documentation and recordkeeping practices across all branches
Travel to branch locations to support HR initiatives, audits, and employee engagement
Act as a central resource for branch managers and department leaders
Required Skills/Abilities
Ability to work independently and be calm under pressure
Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites and branch locations.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally or in writing with internal staff, customers and other diverse outside parties.
Ability to interact well with others and be a positive influence on morale of branch, and organization.
High level for attention to detail, willingness to learn
Must be able to operate in a drug free workplace
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities
Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements
Experience supporting multi-location or multi-state operations
Preferred:
Experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or regulated industries
Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and safety compliance programs
HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
Experience working alongside quality or compliance teams in regulated environments (e.g., nuclear, industrial safety)

Pay Range and Benefits:
The disclosed pay range is based on a consideration of neutral factors and criteria such as required qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certification, seniority and more.
Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 / annually
Weldstar reserves the right to offer the selected candidate or applicant an hourly rate or salary at an appropriate level to be set and determined by the employer that is commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certification, and/or seniority.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
