Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Administrator (Cloud & Cybersecurity) to support Department of Defense (DoD) programs and mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in systems administration, Linux, networking, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity. This position supports enterprise infrastructure, modernization initiatives, and secure cloud-based environments.
Primary Responsibilities
· Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments.
· Support enterprise cloud environments including AWS and/or Azure.
· Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices and security controls.
· Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and services.
· Perform system monitoring, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and performance optimization.
· Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
· Assist with system architecture, modernization efforts, and technology refresh initiatives.
· Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
· Collaborate with software developers, engineers, and stakeholders to support mission requirements.
· Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions where applicable.
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $175,000
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· Experience with Linux Administration.
· Experience with Systems Administration.
· Experience with Networking and Infrastructure Support.
· Experience implementing Cybersecurity best practices.
· Experience supporting Cloud Environments (AWS and/or Azure).
· Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
· Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
· Hands-on technical experience may be valued more highly rather than education and certifications.
Desired Qualifications
· Active Secret clearance preferred.
· Experience supporting Department of Defense, Federal Government, or NASA environments.
· Docker and container technologies.
· Kubernetes administration.
· DevSecOps practices and toolsets.
· Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
· Software development experience.
· Systems engineering experience.
· Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning experience.
Certification Requirements
· Security+ CE (required within six months of hire, if contractually required).
· CISSP (preferred).
· CASP+ (preferred).
· CCNA (preferred).
· Linux+ (preferred).
· AWS Solutions Architect (preferred).
· Microsoft Azure Administrator (preferred).
Candidate Profile
· Hands-on technical experience is valued more highly than certifications alone.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work independently in a dynamic DoD environment.
· Adaptable, self-motivated, and technically curious.
· Capable of supporting both current operations and future modernization efforts.
