About the Role
We are seeking a highly professional and experienced Senior Business Development Executive with a strong background in the Defence sector. The ideal candidate will possess proven expertise in business development, client relationship management, and stakeholder coordination, particularly with defence personnel and government authorities.
The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication, strategic planning, negotiation, and deal closing capabilities, along with the ability to identify, pursue, and successfully convert business opportunities within the defence ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Generate revenue and contribute towards achieving organizational sales and business growth targets
Lead end-to-end business development activities including lead generation, account mapping, client acquisition, product presentations, negotiations, and successful deal closure.
Identify, develop, and drive new business opportunities within the Defence and Strategic Systems sector.
Promote and position the company’s existing products and solutions to defence buyers, government agencies, and strategic customers.
Build and strengthen the company’s business presence within Defence establishments, Government organizations, and allied sectors.
Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with defence officials, government authorities and strategic partners.
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to market reach and increase business opportunities.
Conduct client meetings, technical discussions, demonstrations, and presentations to effectively showcase organizational capabilities and products.
Coordinate with internal teams for proposal development, tender participation, commercial discussions, and project execution.
Manage the complete sales cycle from opportunity identification to contract finalization and post sales relationship management.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, defence procurement programs, and upcoming projects to identify potential growth opportunities.
Represent the organization at defence exhibitions, networking forums, industry events, and business meetings.
Maintain strong stakeholder engagement and ensure timely follow-ups with clients and partners.
Prepare business reports, sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and revenue projections for management review.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Strategic Partnerships, preferably in the Defence industry.
Prior experience dealing with defence personnel, government authorities, defence procurement processes, or defence-related projects is mandatory.
Strong understanding of defence business operations, government liaisoning, tender processes, and market dynamics.
Proven track record in revenue generation, product promotion, business expansion, and successful deal closures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hindi and English.
Strong negotiation, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple business opportunities, and achieve sales targets effectively.
Strong commercial acumen with a strategic and growth-oriented mindset.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates with an established professional network within the Defence sector will be preferred.
Prior exposure to Defence Manufacturing, Aerospace, Government Liaisoning, or Defence R&D organizations will be an added advantage.
