ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
This position operates Final Test equipment, acts as a liaison between manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering; works on continuous improvement projects, NEETRAC, NCRs, Process Audits and assist with product development/production; assist with inventory, trains operators and fills in for other operators when needed. May function as lead when supervisor is absent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Seeks to continually improve test processes (Root Cause Analysis, Correction and Preventions)
Implement critical knowledge transfer and communication processes with operators
Responsible for management and coordination of all testing activities including Final Test, NCRs, R&D, etc.
Coaches and supports team whenever needed
Responsible for creating NEETRAC samples, conducting Process Audits
Provides continuous review and recommendations for improvement of processes related to QA
Understand various Calibration functions
Work with planning daily to ensure that we are in testing appropriate cables.
Work with Quality Engineer when new tooling or equipment is needed.
Work with Repair on retesting of rework cables.
Perform all duties of a QC FT Operator if needed
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must have qualifications in both 2801 and 2901 QC Final Test
Must be self-directed and possess strong analytical skills and communication skills.
Must have a working knowledge of SAP.
3-5 years’ experience in the manufacturing of control and instrumentation cable or power cable laboratory setting.
Leadership training
Note: The QC FT Technician will not lose department seniority when accepting this position.
COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
OJT - Manufacturing Software programs – SAP
Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word)
Must be knowledgeable of Laboratory Equipment
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform routine testing in both labs when needed; understand verbal or written instructions, provide verbal or written information to others, work continuous shift if requested, work scheduled or unscheduled overtime if requested, maintain a good attendance and punctuality record, follow all safety rules and maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility, and work well with others. Working nights may be required. Must be flexible to rotate shifts on short notice.
This position requires significant standing and walking while completing job tasks during the normal work day. Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing, and pulling are occasionally necessary. Occasional collection of water samples when weather permits. May have to inspect reels in Inclement Weather.
