About the role
The Product Quality Engineer is direct report to the Product Quality Engineering MANAGER of the plant and functionally to the Product Quality Engineering LEADER. The Product Quality Engineer is the quality reference of the plant for its technical scope (organic, functional, process). In mass-production, he ensures the industrialization (from quality side) of new parts, analyses defects, contributes to the convergence of quality results in new & in use, by identifying ICA action. He/she coordinates the quality of the suppliers on his/her panel.
Strategica.-Lead the external customer satisfaction on all external KPI as: 3MIS, 1MIS, PDI, Consumer Report, JDP, social mediab.-Meet Quality/Product/Process Requirements Operationala.-Lead Customer Claims investigations to identify Root Cause and corrective actions to satisfy customer expectations.b.-Successful integration of engineering product related changes into the assembly plantc.-Lead complex issues resolution using advanced problem solving Resource Managementa.-People Development: To Provide coaching about product and problem solving with the main purpose of developing others. Other Functions1.Advancing Customer Quality•Analyze parts returned from field incidents (warranty claims, country incident reports).•Propose and implement, with the plant and supplier, the ICA (Interim Containment Action) within the timeframe.•Write the A3 problem solving and define the action plan to eradicate root causes.•Ensure effectiveness of actions implemented (BP follow up) and inform all the counterparts concerned.•Provide technical assistance and participate in crisis meetings.•Support convergence of quality KPI (3MIS).•Support/lead yard holds providing a clear definition of the impact dirty/clean points (do all), actions plan, repair procedures, containment action, etc.Product Quality Engineering aspect includes responsibilities but are not limited to: •Respond with urgency to manufacturing quality issues and collaborate with Chief Inspector and staff to contain product quality issues•Manage product and process information from multiple databases to compile KPI's and metric reports (Safety, Warranty, Pulls/Repairs, Cost, etc.)•Supports monthly warranty reporting and deep dive into 3, 12, & 24 MIS warranty issues•Supports customer alerts from the assembly plants and collaborates with PT Field Engineering team for pull and repairs at the vehicle assembly plants•Supports Warranty review and resolution process by attending QEC reviews, Assembly Plant MyCustomerVoice review and Warranty Table reviews•Decision authority for deviation requests (TSA's, PCN's, & PDA's). Coordinates production evaluation runs (PERs) and change notice (CN) implementation for product/process improvements•Perform CN /PER risk assessments•Provide plant quality approval for all CN's•Lead issue tracking process - including plant assigned GIMs, for external customer issues•Facilitate launch of new programs using Quality OTP (Operational Transformation Process) with highest quality standards and performance.•Lead and organize all special builds with production and support teams•Lead and support quality root cause and continuous improvement initiatives through the Kaizen methodology•Performadministerordirectrework/repairmethodsandprocessesincompliancewith•Perform, administer or direct rework/repair methods and processes in compliance with engineering standards•EPM Pillar Lead - Early Product Management•Actively support PFMEA process for new programs as well as living documentation for existing products•Support/lead Launch activities pertaining to machining qualifications and launch control plan reviews•Control plan ownership and maintenance•Provide risk assessment / direction for issues identified in dyno or functional audit•Authorize lot release as appropriate•Empowered (hold authority) to cease and commence product related activities in relation to quality related issues•Develop strategy for component reuse (blue dot process) with acceptance from product engineering•Support/Manage Pulls/repairs from Vehicle Assembly Plants, with action plans to address any issues2.Ensure the landing of Serial Life Windows & evolutions/events Product including cost savings•Prepare for industrialization from Quality side.9•Give the final PPAP status (APQP audit, part inspection, manage in line validation try-outs, App updating•Issue derogations for parts considered not full PPAP approved but saleable.•Monitoring the assembly of PRS to Batch Method.•Problem solving: Identify the root cause, propose containment and definitive solutions, BP implementation follow up, and inform all counterparts concerned.•Support the modernization (including SW) standard. Quality assessment of parts during pre-production phases.•Participate if needed in Panorama Evolution Product Process (on Master Chief Engineer request).3.Support the plant (on his/her perimeter) in the safety of production•Analyze the DRR & DVx results: Understand the defects and confirm its attribution ?Diamond 1-3 (factory NC) and Diamond 4 (supplier NC).•Problem solving: Identify the root cause, propose immediate protective measures and definitive solutions (together with supplier and manufacturing team), BP implementation follow up, and inform all counterparts concerned.•Propose design evolutions to ENG Team for the design issues (redesign ?Diamond 5-6-7).•Participate in local and cross-cutting crisis meetings.•Ensuring the process of supplier ticket (created QO/Reactivity): Guaranteeing the processing of anomalies within the required timeframe and validating the proposed action plans.•Hand over of the quality responsibility from launch project and serial life.4.Be the guarantor of the robustness of the plant monitoring plan•Relay and up-date the monitoring plan in the plant•Make Layered Process Audit (LPA) on workstations identified as sensitive in the flow5.Support for plant Supplier Quality (SQD support)•Analyze, assess, and validate the robustness of supplier's action plans, within the required timeframe.•Trigger the escalation process to SQD.•Contribute, if justified, to the validation of the supplier process evolution.6.Contributing to the progress of the ENGineering Team•Enable the link between Plant and Central ENG Team.They are responsible for understanding, participating in, and ensuring the implementation of the ISO 9001, 14001, 50001, and OHSAS 18001 systems, as well as the Stellantis Manufacturing Quality Manual, Quality Management System (QMS), Global Requirements (Operational Standards), Regional Requirements (North American legal requirements), Procedures, Work Instructions, and internal formats (MSP), the Stellantis Production System (SPW), and any additional systems or initiatives the organization decides to implement.They are responsible for complying with corporate and legal safety and health requirements within their area/scope of control and for ensuring that the workers under their supervision follow appropriate safety practices.They are also responsible for implementing and participating in the ISO 14001 system, ensuring the safe final disposal of their waste, and maintaining environmental performance indicators.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree: Engineering degree Electric/Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic or equivalent. 3 years experience in Automotive industry. English proficiencyStrong knowledge in Product & Quality systems. Problem Solver with strong analyticskills. Product Engineering systems knowledge CN, IAA, STV, EBOM, Team Center, PS. Quality systemsknowledgeSPC,PlanControl,PFMEA,WIS,FEW.
