Role Overview
The Director, APAC is a leadership role that sits at the intersection of commercial ownership and regional general management. You will be accountable for the retention and growth of Botify's customer base across the Asia-Pacific region, whilst simultaneously serving as the connective tissue for a lean, multi-disciplinary team of six spanning Account Management, Professional Services, and Solutions Engineering.
This is not a purely desk-bound leadership role. APAC is a growth market for Botify, and the Director will need to operate with a player-coach mindset: setting strategic direction whilst remaining close to key accounts, pivotal renewal conversations, and the day-to-day rhythm of a high-performing regional team. You will report directly into the VP, Customer Experience, and operate as the senior Botify voice in the region.
The ideal candidate combines deep commercial acumen with the interpersonal credibility to inspire a small, geographically dispersed team around a shared mission, and the executive presence to earn trust with senior client stakeholders across diverse markets.
Your responsibilities:
1. Regional Leadership & Team Development
You will set the tone and direction for the APAC team, galvanising colleagues across functions around a shared purpose.
Establish clear, measurable team goals aligned to regional and global business objectives; monitor performance consistently and provide timely, constructive feedback.
This role also includes elements of a general manager role for the APAC region, acting as a unifying force for a cross-functional team of Account Managers, Professional Services Consultants, SEO Success Managers, and Solutions Engineers.
Mentor and develop team members, creating a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance.
Facilitate cross-functional alignment and communication, both within APAC and with global functions including Global Services, Sales, Product, and Marketing, to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
Represent the APAC region internally, advocating for the needs of regional customers and team members in global conversations.
2. Commercial Ownership: Retention & Growth
You will own the commercial outcomes for the APAC customer base, with an unwavering focus on retaining and growing revenue.
Own the full renewal lifecycle for the region: leading discovery to understand customer KPIs, evaluation criteria, and decision-making processes; confirming and protecting budget; and shepherding contracts to close.
Drive account expansion in partnership with your team, identifying and converting upsell and cross-sell opportunities through a consultative, value-led approach.
Develop and execute strategic account plans for key customers, encompassing growth opportunities, risk mitigation, and tailored value propositions.
Build and maintain senior relationships within client organisations, becoming a trusted strategic partner at the C-suite and Head-of-department level.
Develop an intimate understanding of your client organisations: key stakeholders, reporting structures, budget cycles, strategic priorities, and growth ambitions.
Opportunistically lead the end-to-end sales process to close net-new clients in the region, working in close partnership with the wider Sales team.
3. Customer Success & Value Delivery
You will ensure that customers across the region are realising meaningful, demonstrable value from their Botify partnership.
Work hand-in-hand with Global Services colleagues to ensure customers are maximising the impact of the Botify platform on their organic search performance.
Oversee the planning and delivery of Executive Business Reviews (EBRs) across the region, ensuring they are strategic, insight-led, and commercially meaningful.
Lead the At-Risk process for the region, identifying early indicators of customer health deterioration and mobilising appropriate internal resources to remediate.
Champion a customer-first culture within the APAC team, ensuring every interaction reflects Botify's commitment to partnership and long-term value creation.
4. Operational Excellence
You will set the standard for rigour and consistency in how the APAC team operates, in line with global processes.
Role-model and embed core global Account Management processes, including retention and upsell opportunity management, forecasting, EBR delivery, and the At-Risk process.
Maintain exemplary standards in Salesforce.com and Catalyst (Customer Success Platform), ensuring pipeline, health scores, and forecasting data are accurate and up to date.
Leverage key operational workflows, including Slack-based Dealdesk and Scenarios planning processes, as foundational tools for commercial decision-making.
Provide regular, data-driven reporting on regional performance, customer health, and revenue outlook to senior leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for a commercially driven leader who combines strategic vision with the ability to roll up their sleeves in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment. You will likely bring:
Essential
8+ years in account management, customer success, or commercial leadership roles, with demonstrable experience managing and growing enterprise-level accounts.
3+ years in a people leadership position, with a proven ability to build, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.
A strong commercial track record: experience owning and delivering against retention and growth targets, with expertise in renewal negotiation, upsell strategy, and deal structuring.
Exceptional client relationship skills, with the executive presence to engage credibly at C-suite level across culturally diverse markets.
Fluency in CRM and Customer Success platforms (Salesforce.com and Catalyst, or equivalents), and a data-driven approach to pipeline and forecast management.
Experience working in a SaaS, technology, or digital marketing environment.
The ability to operate effectively across multiple time zones and markets with a degree of autonomy.
Desirable
Knowledge of SEO, organic search, or digital performance marketing.
Familiarity with the AI search landscape and its implications for enterprise brands.
Experience working within a global matrixed organisation, balancing regional autonomy with alignment to central functions.
Prior experience managing or collaborating with cross-functional teams spanning consulting, technical, and commercial disciplines.
Language skills relevant to key APAC markets (e.g., Japanese, Mandarin, Korean) are a bonus but not required.
What success looks like
In your first six months, you will have built strong working relationships across the APAC team and global functions, taken ownership of the regional commercial pipeline, and developed a clear view of each customer's health and strategic opportunity. Within a year, you will be driving consistent retention and expansion performance, your team will be operating with clarity and confidence, and you will be recognised both internally and by customers as the authoritative Botify voice in the region.
Note: The list of responsibilities above is not exhaustive. You may be asked to perform additional duties commensurate with your title and seniority. Job titles may be updated from time to time as the business evolves
