Rental & Sales Manager
About the role
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Take ownership of monthly and annual sales targets for rental revenue and utilisation
Proactively generate new business through outbound calls, local networking, and client visits
Develop and grow relationships with corporate clients and local businesses
Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the fleet and services
Work closely with the General Manager to implement strategies that increase revenue and market share
Operations & Fleet Management
Oversee daily operations of the rental branch, including vehicle logistics, planning, returns, and damage control
Ensure all rental processes are completed efficiently and accurately
Maintain accurate records of fleet inventory, rental agreements, and vehicle movements
Optimise fleet utilisation to maximise availability and profitability
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and legal requirements
Customer & Account Management
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and disputes professionally and efficiently
Deliver a high standard of service to drive repeat business and long-term relationships
Financial & Performance Management
Deliver against agreed revenue, utilisation, and cost targets
Monitor performance metrics and report on sales and operational KPIs
Maintain strong cost control and financial awareness across the branch
Skills & Person Specification
Strong sales mindset with a proven ability to meet or exceed targets
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Confident in telephone sales, in person meeting and customer service
Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
Commercially aware with solid financial understanding
Experience Required
Experience in vehicle rental, contract hire, or LCV sector (preferred)
Proven track record in sales, business development, or account management
Experience in logistics or fleet operations
Vehicle refurbishment knowledge is advantageous
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
