About the role
Job Purpose
Must report onsite to one of our NC offices: Charlotte
The Roadway Design Project Manager will work under the Director of Design to provide designs, management, and execution of roadway engineering department projects. S/he will be responsible for managing project budgets and deadlines and for providing Quality Control efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide project management including planning, developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating design projects to ensure company objectives are met
Oversees and participates in the preparation of design drawings in accordance with various federal, state, and municipal standards governing the design of roadway engineering projects.
Provides design guidance to production staff and QA/QC
Lead, manage, and hold accountable (LMA) project engineers
Prepare drawings using MicroStation/GEOPAK, AutoTURN, and/or similar type software. OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus
Prepares project bid documents/specifications
Oversees quantities and cost estimating efforts
Involved with project administrative activities including proposal preparation, monthly billing, billing projections, etc.
Maintain client satisfaction/confidentiality
Assists with project pursuits in providing technical expertise on proposals and marketing meetings
Qualifications
Possess a Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering from an accredited university o Master’s degree in civil or transportation engineering is a plus
Possess Professional Engineering license (in, or ability to obtain in, NC and/or VA, SC)
Have 5+ years of transportation engineering experience
Have experience working with state and local public agencies
Possess strong analytical, decision making, organizational, and time management skills. Must have Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCad engineering software packages standard in the industry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $130,000.00 per year
