AI Experience Design & Front-End Intern
The Life in AI Center (LAIC) is hiring an intern for an 8–10 week, in-person summer program focused on building AI-powered tutors, learning experiences, and interactive applications.
About the Role
Projects may include AI tutors, explainers, educational experiences, Bridge AI Buddy, community programs, and other human-AI learning applications.
What You'll Do
Convert ideas into wireframes, interaction flows, and working prototypes
Design and implement user interfaces for AI-powered applications
Rapidly iterate on designs based on mentor and user feedback
Use AI-assisted tools for design, front-end development, and prototyping
Collaborate with AI, content, and program interns
Participate in testing and community-facing pilots when appropriate
We are particularly interested in candidates who can imagine and prototype new interaction paradigms for AI tutors and learning experiences beyond the traditional chatbot interface.
Desired Skills
Figma or similar design tools
Front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or equivalent)
AI-assisted design and vibe coding tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Lovable, Bolt, Replit, or similar
Wireframing, prototyping, interaction design, and usability thinking
Strong visual communication and attention to user experience
Traditional UX research experience is not required.
Ideal Candidate
Enjoys both designing and building
Can move quickly from concept to prototype
Curious about AI, learning, games, creativity, and human behavior
Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving interdisciplinary team
Open to feedback and rapid iteration
