Base Salary HE08 $131,108 - $147,858 + 17% Superannuation

About the opportunity

We have a new opportunity within the Curriculum & Quality team, for an Advisor (Curriculum) working within the Office of DVC Education & Students. The Advisor will oversee the planning and implementation of curriculum and education initiatives, with your work spanning curriculum governance, information, policy and operations and helping to ensure the University’s curriculum is managed effectively.

The Advisor will provide the Education & Students Portfolio and Faculties executives and senior staff with expert advice to support their work on educational excellence (with a curricular focus) and influence strategic change and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Head, Curriculum and Quality, the Advisor (Curriculum) will:

lead curriculum management and curriculum quality activities

project manage the design, delivery and implementation of strategic education initiatives and business-as-usual processes

undertake independent research, business or policy analysis, papers and report writing to inform project activities and continuous improvement

use their subject matter expertise and sound judgement to provide advice to senior leaders

manage communications and relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across the University, including managing steering committees and consultative groups

mentor and support junior staff members within the team

About you

You are someone who enjoys working on initiatives that can maintain curriculum excellence and improve the student experience of teaching and learning at University. You can demonstrate:

an understanding of, and ideally experience with, curriculum management and quality matters

experience managing multiple work streams or leading complex projects while working to strict deadlines and managing various demands

strong stakeholder engagement skills within medium to large organisations

excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem-solving skills

well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
