Sales & Business Development Representative
About the role
About SKO Catering SKO is a culinary experience studio redefining what catering looks, feels, and tastes like. Rooted in the art of sushi and guided by the principles of Edomae-style craftsmanship, we go beyond food — bringing together thoughtful sourcing, intentional design, and atmosphere to create moments that are both elevated and effortless. From live sushi hosting tables and private omakase experiences to curated delivery and Korean cuisine, every SKO offering is crafted with the same discipline: freshness, balance, and presentation that leaves a lasting impression.
We serve weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, and premier hospitality venues — including hotels and country clubs — across New York, New Jersey, and the greater Tri-State area. Our chefs lead with quiet authority, and our team operates with precision, care, and a deep respect for the guest experience. As we grow, we're looking for someone who shares that same standard — a driven, personable sales professional who can bring SKO's story to the right rooms and the right clients.
The Role We're looking for a Catering Sales & Business Development Representative who is confident, polished, and passionate about building relationships. You'll be the first voice many clients hear from SKO — making outbound calls, nurturing our hospitality partnerships, and actively developing new business across the region. This isn't a desk job. You'll be out in the field, representing one of the most distinctive catering brands in the Tri-State area, and connecting decision-makers with an experience they won't forget.
What You'll Do You'll own the full sales cycle — from first contact to signed contract — while keeping our existing hotel and country club partners engaged and growing. Proactively cold call and reach out to prospective clients including hotels, country clubs, corporate offices, event planners, and private venues across the NY/NJ Tri-State area
Conduct regular follow-ups with current hospitality partners to maintain strong relationships, drive repeat bookings, and introduce new seasonal offerings
Upsell and cross-sell SKO's full suite of experiences — from live sushi hosting tables and curated delivery to omakase and Korean cuisine menus
Present tailored catering proposals and packages to decision-makers, event directors, and F&B managers
Represent SKO at industry events, local networking functions, and hospitality trade gatherings to brand visibility
Re-engage lapsed clients and identify untapped opportunities within existing accounts
Maintain and update the CRM with all lead activity, client interactions, proposals, and follow-up notes
Prepare accurate quotes, event proposals, and service agreements in coordination with our culinary team
Collaborate closely with our chefs and operations team to ensure client expectations are met with SKO's signature standard of excellence
Track and report on weekly pipeline activity and work toward monthly and quarterly revenue targets
What We're Looking For Excellent English communication skills — spoken and written; professional, warm, and persuasive Confident phone presence with a genuine comfort in cold calling and outbound outreach 1–3 years of experience in catering, hospitality, food & beverage, or B2B sales (preferred) A self-starter who can manage their own schedule, pipeline, and client relationships independently Deep appreciation for food, hospitality, and the kind of detail that makes an event memorable Strong interpersonal skills — you enjoy people and know how to make a connection feel genuine Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and digital communication platforms Knowledge of the NYC and NJ hospitality and events market is a strong plus
Why SKO Competitive base salary + commission — your growth directly reflects your effort
Represent a brand that stands out — SKO isn't just catering, it's an experience Work alongside world-class chefs and a team that genuinely takes pride in every event Real career growth opportunities as the brand scales across the Tri-State area Your relationships and hustle directly shape where SKO goes next
