About the role
Overview
Stitchhikers is looking for an energetic, quick-thinking, and highly engaging Whatnot Live Host to run our live stream auctions. You will be the face of our live sales, showcasing vintage clothing, streetwear, and unique finds to a fast-paced online audience. If you have a big personality, know how to hype up a crowd, and have an eye for vintage details, we want you on camera.
Responsibilities
Host Live Auctions: Run 2–4 hour live streams on Whatnot, maintaining high energy, interacting with the chat, and keeping the audience entertained to drive bids.
Showcase Inventory: Accurately present garments on camera. Highlight key selling points, measurements, flaws, and notable vintage details (e.g., single-stitch, specific wash, or brand tags like Levi's Orange Tabs).
Manage the App: Operate the Whatnot interface while hosting—pinning items, running sudden-death auctions, adjusting timers, and answering buyer questions in real time.
Prep & Organization: Pull, sort, and steam inventory prior to going live so the show runs seamlessly.
Post-Show Handoff: Organize sold lots and coordinate with the fulfillment team to ensure items are accurately routed for packing and shipping.
Skills
Charisma & Stamina: Extremely comfortable on camera with the ability to talk continuously and keep energy up for hours at a time.
Product Knowledge: Familiarity with secondhand fashion, vintage grading, and popular resale brands.
Multitasking Expert: Able to talk, read a fast-moving chat, and operate a smartphone app simultaneously without losing rhythm.
Reliability: Punctual and prepared. Live shows are scheduled events, and attendance is non-negotiable.
Prior live selling experience (Whatnot, Instagram, TikTok) is a massive plus.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
