Position: Full-Time Store Operation Manager

Location: Pasadena, CA

Compensation: $25/hr + monthly performance bonus (up to $500)

Schedule: 40 hours (weekend availability required)

Start Date: June

Bu Pastry Bar is a modern pastry concept focused on handcrafted French-inspired pastries, specialty beverages, and thoughtful hospitality. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Operations Manager who can help lead our team, strengthen our systems, and contribute to the future direction of the business.

This is not simply a scheduling or supervisory role. We are looking for someone who enjoys building, improving, and growing a business alongside ownership.

About The Role

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supporting team development, maintaining operational excellence, and identifying opportunities that help the business grow.

The ideal candidate is someone who can balance people, systems, and business objectives while bringing initiative, creativity, and leadership to the table.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Operations

Lead and support front-of-house operations

Manage staffing, scheduling, and labor efficiency

Recruit, onboard, train, and develop team members

Foster a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture

Ensure operational standards and procedures are consistently followed

Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally

Maintain store organization, cleanliness, and presentation standards

Monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement

Business Growth & Development

Identify opportunities to improve sales, guest experience, and operational efficiency

Contribute ideas for events, collaborations, promotions, and community engagement

Support local marketing initiatives and partnership opportunities

Help develop systems and processes that support long-term growth

Participate in planning seasonal launches, special events, and business initiatives

Actively look for opportunities to strengthen and the Bu Pastry Bar brand

Qualifications

Previous management experience in hospitality, food & beverage, retail, or a related industry

Strong leadership and communication skills

Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities

Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable giving and receiving feedback

Strong sense of accountability and ownership

Ability to balance team needs with business needs

Passion for hospitality, food, beverages, and customer experience
