Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee day-to-day operations across receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and returns processing.
Manage multiple distribution centers or large-scale facilities (typically 200,000+ sq ft).
Achieve and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, order accuracy, on-time delivery, fill rate, and cost per unit shipped.
Develop and implement operational strategies to support business growth, seasonal peaks, and new customer onboarding.
Team Management & Development
Lead, coach, and develop a team of managers, supervisors, and 50+ hourly associates across multiple shifts.
Foster a strong safety-first culture and maintain excellent OSHA / safety metrics.
Handle talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
Process Improvement & Efficiency
Drive Lean / Six Sigma initiatives, automation projects, and warehouse management system (WMS) optimizations.
Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for cost reduction and service improvement.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements (AIB, ISO, OSHA, DOT if applicable).
Maintain high standards for inventory accuracy (99%+), product quality, and customer satisfaction.
Financial & Strategic Accountability
Own the operating budget for labor, supplies, maintenance, and facility costs.
Prepare monthly forecasts, variance analysis, and capital expenditure justifications.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, distribution, or 3PL operations.
Proven track record managing large teams (50+ associates) and complex, high-volume distribution environments.
Strong experience with WMS (e.g., Accellos, SAP, Blue Yonder, High Jump) and labor management systems.
Demonstrated success implementing Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement programs with measurable ROI.
Preferred:
Experience in e-commerce fulfillment, retail distribution, manufacturing supply chain, or temperature-controlled environments.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Experience with automation and robotics in warehousing.
