About the role
The Program Manager (PM) is the single-point owner of program performance, customer success, and profitable growth. The PM operates as the general manager of their assigned program(s) or customer(s) with full accountability for financial results, execution, and expansion of the business.
This is a forward-leaning, customer-facing leadership role that requires a strong bias for action, ownership mindset, humility, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver results. The PM is responsible not only for executing existing work, but also for growing the business through new opportunities, strategic customer engagement, and value creation. The PM sets the tone for performance and culture within the teams, demonstrating humility alongside ensuring high accountability, urgency, and alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Ownership & Financial Performance
Support full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for assigned program(s), including Bookings, Revenue, and EBITDA
Drive profitable growth through value-based pricing, productivity, and cost management
Continuously assess program financial health and take proactive actions to meet or exceed targets
Identify and capture opportunities to grow beyond the current program scope
Customer Leadership & Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, representing the business with credibility and accountability
Build and maintain strong, proactive customer relationships at multiple levels
Lead contract review, negotiation, and execution to ensure favorable business outcomes
Anticipate customer needs, manage expectations, and ensure consistent delivery of value
Strategic Growth & Business Development
Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities within existing and new customers
Act as Capture Manager for key opportunities, including bid/no-bid decisions, proposal development, pricing strategy, and negotiations
Lead RFQ processes from initial evaluation through proposal submission and contract award
Partner with Business Development and Business Unit leadership to execute growth strategies
Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities aligned with business objectives
Cross-Functional Program Leadership
Lead a cross-functional Program Team consisting of Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Customer Service, and other support functions
Establish clear priorities, deliverables, and timelines aligned with program and business goals
Ensure alignment, communication, and accountability across all functions
Drive execution to meet commitments related to cost, schedule, quality, and delivery
Maintain Program organization through a program level “dashboard” with an action RAIL and Risk Matrix.
Execution Excellence & Issue Resolution
Maintain full ownership of program performance across all phases of the lifecycle
Stay closely connected to all aspects of assigned programs, ensuring thorough knowledge of day-to-day execution, key drivers, and potential gaps
Proactively identify risks and issues, and drive timely resolution across functional boundaries
Ensure transparency with internal leadership and customers regarding program status, risks, and recovery plans
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance responsiveness, efficiency, and performance
Culture & Leadership
Set the tone for a high-performance, accountability-driven culture within the team, grounded in humility and mutual respect
Demonstrate a strong bias for action, urgency, and ownership in all aspects of the role
Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for results
Foster collaboration, engagement, and a shared sense of purpose across the team and encourage inclusive dialogue and continuous learning.
Reinforce behaviors aligned with company values and strategic direction
Compliance & Program Governance
Ensure full compliance with contractual requirements, including management, engineering, manufacturing, test, and quality assurance activities
Maintain program management systems, schedules, and reporting tools
Provide full visibility into program performance, including timely communication of risks and mitigation plans
Serve as the primary liaison with customer procurement and engineering representatives
Shift: First Shift
Compensation: 130,000 - 185,000
