Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts and ready-for-market convenience foods.
Kepak Red Meat UK operates from three sites within the UK. McIntosh Donald, in Aberdeen, Merthyr Tydfil in Wales and our Bodmin site in Cornwall.
Our growing and developing site HR function are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join the team. We are looking for someone who can drive a positive, engaging, and high performing culture. Someone who enjoys a fast pace where no 2 days are the same.
You will be based at our Kepak Bodmin site which is a single species (cattle) primary product and packing site, with approximately 300 employees and a 5 day operation.
Working hours are 37.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday, site based with some flexibility around home working and hours of work to ensure we support your work-life balance.

As well as delivering on the day to day HR operations you will be working collaboratively with the HR Manager to support the site HR strategy. This will give you a great exposure to enhancing employee engagement, managing employee relations, and leading continuous improvement projects.

As an HR Advisor you will:
Build effective relationships with stakeholders and become a trusted advisor to positively influence approaches and behaviours in line with site/company standards and best practice, escalating any complex queries to the HR Manager as necessary.
Proactively work to build people management capability across the Site Management team to give them the tools and confidence to handle people issues.
Manage Employee Relations cases end-to-end including investigation, disciplinary, grievance, capability, flexible working, absence and performance management, coaching line managers/supervisors and providing pragmatic advice throughout the process.
Actively identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the department/site.
Lead on assigned ad-hoc projects as required, including data gathering, research and analysis.
Support the site with our early careers initiatives, employee events and engagement activities.
Support the HR Manager with delivery of annual HR processes such as salary reviews, succession planning and employee surveys.
Support the Recruiter as required with recruitment activities including utilising the recruitment system, including advertising, responding to applications, scheduling interviews/block tests, and being a member of the interview panel. Supporting with health surveillance/occupational health appointments.
Support the Training Co-ordinator as required with new hire inductions, and other training needs identified as required.
Requirements
Previous experience in a HR Advisor role
CIPD Qualified - Level 5 preferred, or qualified through experience
Passionate about delivering a proactive, operationally focused and value-add HR service to the business
Must be discreet, diplomatic and treat information within the department as highly confidential
Meticulous attention to detail is essential
Communicates well in written and oral form with multi-nationals on all levels
Ability to multitask and work under pressure using own initiative to meet various deadlines
Resilience when faced with ambiguity and changing priorities whilst maintaining a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
Relationship builder with influencing skills
