Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is confident leading HR as a department of one. As the Senior HR Generalist for our Port Canaveral facility (100+ employees), you will own all HR functions onsite while partnering closely with the Regional HR Manager and HR Centers. This highly visible role blends strategic leadership with day-to-day HR operations, supporting a diverse workforce, coaching supervisors and employees, conducting investigations, driving engagement, and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate builds strong relationships on the production floor, influences plant leadership, and independently leads initiatives that elevate culture, talent, and performance across the site.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coach, counsel, guide, and mentor employees at all levels on best practices for attracting, engaging, and investing in employees through the employee lifecycle, strengthening retention and development.
Implement strategic HR initiatives in talent management, staffing, retention, diversity, organizational development, and performance management for non-union employees’ facility.
Align HR priorities with operational needs to ensure customer-centric service delivery.
Lead talent acquisition efforts by setting objectives and KPI’s for the area of responsibility, ensuring a sustainable pipeline for production, trades, technical, and supervisory positions.
Provide subject matter expertise and counsel operations leaders on change management, leadership style, and effective communication to support organizational transitions.
Support leadership development by guiding managers through HR processes and systems (performance reviews, succession planning, talent discussions/development) and building management competencies.
Foster positive employee relations by promoting proactive HR practices, open communication, and engagement initiatives to maintain a collaborative, union-free environment. Partner with leadership to address workplace concerns promptly and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
Participates in various activities related to employee relations, including workers’ compensation cases and conflict resolution, providing counseling to managers and employees of low to high complexity, and conducting interviews (follow-up, exit, and others). Works with site leadership to coach, train, and guide regarding employee relations, policy interpretation, procedures, benefits, compensation, job description development, payroll, turnover, employee satisfaction, performance management, conflict resolution, and legal issues (e.g., FMLA, ADA, sexual harassment, etc.).
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, company policies, procedures, and location-specific requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree required.
5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
HR experience in a union environment is preferred, including the administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements.
Experience in negotiating collective bargaining agreements preferred.
Broad knowledge of HR practices, including talent acquisition, compensation, performance management, leadership development, employee relations, change management, and organizational development.
Experience developing, implementing, and improving HR processes and policies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Effective conflict resolution and mediation skills.
Work Environment
This position requires knowledge and awareness of industrial sites. Protective gear will be required where appropriate. Position requires the ability to work varied hours based on departmental and business needs. This position is based in a plant environment and requires spending time on the manufacturing floor, engaging with employees on the production floor (minimum 40% of time) to build strong relationships, support supervisors, and proactively address concerns.
