About the role

The Organization: Founded in 1958, the Southwest Section of the PGA of America serves more than 1500 PGA Professionals and Associates across Arizona and Southern Nevada. These men and women are the recognized experts in growing, teaching, and managing the game of golf. The Southwest PGA oversees competitive tournaments, junior golf programs, educational opportunities, and initiatives designed to support its members and the game throughout the region. As the fifth largest of the PGA of America’s 41 Sections, the Southwest PGA plays a vital role in advancing the profession and strengthening the game at every level. Our team is committed to delivering first-class championship experiences while supporting PGA Professionals and growing the game across Arizona and Southern Nevada.

The Position: Responsible for leading the Southwest PGA’s sponsorship sales, marketing initiatives, brand development, and partner activation strategies. This position drives new business revenue, manages corporate partnerships, oversees tournament and event marketing initiatives, and supports operational execution across more than 40 annual tournaments and special events. This position plays a key role in expanding sponsorship revenue, enhancing partner engagement, and elevating the Southwest PGA brand throughout the region.

Primary Responsibilities: ● Develop and manage sponsorship proposals, presentations, contracts and activation plans. ● Prospect, secure and retain corporate sponsors and strategic partners. ● Oversee sponsor fulfillment and activation for tournaments, championships and special events. ● Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, partners, and key stakeholders. ● Identify and develop new revenue opportunities through strategic sponsorship outreach and business development initiatives. ● Develop and execute social media marketing strategies to enhance sponsor visibility, audience engagement, and Southwest PGA brand awareness. ● Manage social media strategy and content creation, including copywriting, photo/video editing, analytics, and performance tracking. ●Assist tournament staff with on-site tournament responsibilities, including, but not limited to, operational set-up, golf course set-up and starter/scoring duties. ● Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director, including support of all departments.

Qualifications: ● The ideal candidate is a driven relationship-builder with experience generating sponsorship revenue and creating long-term strategic partnerships. ● Three years’ experience in sponsorship sales, sports marketing, corporate partnerships, or event management required. ● Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university required. ● Professionalism, integrity, and leadership qualities. ● Superb problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions independently. ● Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail and follow-up. ● Demonstrated experience in roles requiring strong customer service, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills. ● Prepared to work long hours during the Southwest PGA’s tournament season. ● Strong interpersonal skills with an exceptional ability to communicate effectively and present information to a variety of audiences. ● Ability to work in a collaborative manner with fellow administrative staff members in a team atmosphere. ● Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, online communication technologies and social media trends required. ● Willing to travel extensively throughout Arizona and Southern Nevada. ● Ability to work with a broad spectrum of groups. ● Flexibility for work schedule including weekends and evenings.

Compensation & Benefits: ● Competitive base salary plus commission incentive structure commensurate with experience. ● Medical, dental and vision insurance provided at no cost. ● PTO time, sick time and 401k retirement plan all provided. ● Mileage reimbursement for travel. ● Staff apparel.

Travel throughout the Southwest PGA’s service area is required. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
