Yellowpine Truss designs, manufactures, and delivers high-quality roof and floor truss systems for builders, general contractors, shell contractors, and homeowners. We pride ourselves on accurate takeoffs, on-time delivery, and standing behind every package we ship. As we grow, we're looking for an experienced sales professional who knows the truss business.

The Role

This is a combined inside and outside sales position. You'll spend time in the field building and maintaining relationships with builders and contractors, and time in the office finding new clients. You will be handing off the client to one of the Account Reps for biding and design.

Outside Sales

Prospect, develop, and close new accounts among builders, general contractors, shell contractors, and homeowers.

Visit job sites and customer offices to understand project requirements and recommend the right truss solutions

Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers; follow up on leads.

Coordinate on-site with construction teams to resolve design or fit discrepancies.

Inside Sales

Research and identify new clients, projects, and bidding opportunities using online tools.

Make contact with builders, general contractors, and developers to introduce Yellowpine and get us added to their bid lists.

Track upcoming and active projects, follow up on opportunities, and keep the pipeline moving.

Enter and maintain all leads, contacts, projects, and activity in HubSpot

Coordinate with design and production to turn opportunities into accurate, on-time quotes and communicate price quotes, terms, lead times, and delivery dates.

What You Bring

5+ years of sales experience in trusses or building materials (truss experience strongly preferred)

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints

Working knowledge of truss design, building materials, and construction practices

Familiarity with truss design/estimating software (e.g., ITW Alpine, MiTek, or similar) is a strong plus

Knowledge of local building codes and truss design standards (TPI)

Strong written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills

Self-motivated and comfortable initiating contact to generate new business

Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance

Able to travel to customer sites and occasionally walk uneven job-site terrain.

Compensation & Benefits

$80,000 base salary plus commission.

Medical, dental, and vision plans — eligible after 60 days of employment

401(k) retirement plan — eligible after 60 days

Paid vacation after one year of service (5 days at 1–2 years, scaling up with tenure)

Seven paid holidays after the 90-day introductory period

Company-paid workers' compensation coverage

Reimbursement for reasonable and necessary business expenses
