About the role

River Riders is seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to help lead a one of a kind team at a premier outdoor adventure destination. This role is ideal for a motivated leader who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments, enjoys working both “in” and “on” the business, and is passionate about creating remarkable experiences through safe, efficient, and high-energy operations.

As Operation Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager(s) and executive team to oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple departments including river trips, waterpark, zip line canopy tours, aerial adventure park, campground operations, transportation, maintenance, summer camp, and seasonal winter activities. This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring operational excellence, staff performance, guest satisfaction, and safety across the resort.

Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities

Oversee daily operations and staff across all departments and all seasons

Ensure safe, efficient, and timely trip departures and guest experiences

Coordinate staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management

Work as the duty manager for the entire business

Perform opening and closing duties/tasks

Ensure trips depart on time

Takes initiative to solve issues that arise across departments involving guests, staff, and equipment

In control of inventory and equipment readiness

Coordinate with maintenance and transportation departments for daily operations.

Work with leadership to make operational decisions based on weather, water levels, and guest needs

Maintain and encourage company and compliance standards, through policies and procedures, operational checklists and safety procedures

Address guest and employee concerns professionally and effectively

Support a positive, energetic, and team-oriented work environment during high-volume seasonal operations

Qualifications

Previous operations or leadership experience in hospitality, outdoor recreation, or adventure tourism

Comfortable managing multiple priorities and adapting quickly throughout the workday

Ability to stay calm, organized, and solution-focused in a fast-moving environment

Current First Aid/CPR certification

Valid CDL with passenger endorsement preferred

Experience with rafting, zip line, aerial adventure, or outdoor recreation operations would be a strong asset

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Mechanically inclined and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools

Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods
