About the role
The Director of Marketing will lead the development and execution of Tennis Australia’s National and International marketing strategy to grow fan engagement with our events, tennis participation, commercial revenue, and brand equity. This role is responsible for driving innovative, data-led, and audience-focused marketing across all touchpoints. The key products in scope include the Australian Open and the Australian swing of ATP/WTA events across the country, grassroots tennis products, and complementary disciplines, including Padel and Pickleball.
In this role you will:
Develop and own the overarching marketing strategy across events, participation (grassroots), brands, and commercial objectives.
Manage digital transformation and innovation across CRM, Marketing automation, mobile, social, and web platforms in close collaboration with the Technology Team and Ticketing partners.
Lead Tennis Australia’s understanding of cultural trends both locally and globally, to drive alignment on Tennis Australia’s strategic position and key actions.
Collaborate with all revenue driving teams (ticketing & hospitality, sponsorships, media rights, merchandise, F&B) to drive monetisation and brand growth.
Drive brand representation and storytelling across all events, particularly in the design of the Australian Open precinct.
Lead, mentor and inspire a high performing Marketing team across Tennis promotion, Events promotion, management of brands, CRM, and the internal creative team.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Extensive experience in Commercial or Marketing roles involving significant stakeholder management across multiple functions
The ability to balance creative and innovative thinking with deep, structured, critical thinking to drive efficiency and large-scale problem solving
A strong understanding of Commercial Partnerships beyond Marketing
Knowledge of major events and Australian/global media landscapes
Experience in partnering closely with revenue teams to achieve targets with hustle and agility
Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
