About the role

Project Manager (Digital and Information)

At Urban Utilities, our purpose is simple yet powerful – Enrich Quality of Life. With a $7 billion asset base and services spanning 1.5 million residents and more than 31,000 commercial customers across South East Queensland, we are committed to enhancing the liveability of our communities every day.

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Digital & Information group and support the delivery of important digital projects across Urban Utilities.

In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders and delivery partners to plan, manage and deliver projects that support our people, customers and communities. You’ll play a key role in making sure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope and budget, and with clear alignment to business outcomes.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, building trusted stakeholder relationships, and contributing to continuous improvement in how digital projects are delivered.

What You’ll Deliver

Lead the planning, delivery and successful completion of digital projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed scope, timeframes and budget.

Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers and reporting to support clear governance and decision-making.

Partner with stakeholders, delivery teams and suppliers to manage expectations, resolve issues and keep projects moving.

Monitor project risks, dependencies, quality and benefits to ensure delivery remains aligned to business needs.

Support continuous improvement across project management practices, tools, reporting and ways of working.

About You

You’ll bring experience in project management and a practical, outcomes-focused approach to delivery. You’re comfortable working across multiple priorities, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and translating project requirements into clear plans and actions.

You will also bring:

Experience delivering digital, technology or business improvement projects, ideally in a complex or regulated environment.

Experience in delivering projects using Waterfall and Agile.

Experience in delivering projects using formal project management methodologies (i.e., Prince 2).

Strong project management capability across planning, budgeting, scheduling, governance, risk management and reporting.

Demonstrated ability to work with vendors, suppliers or delivery partners to achieve agreed outcomes.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and influence across technical and non-technical audiences.

Commercial awareness and the ability to manage project costs, resources and benefits.

A continuous improvement mindset and a commitment to safe, inclusive and customer-focused ways of working.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, technology, business or a related discipline. Postgraduate project management qualifications would be highly regarded.

Experience in utilities, critical infrastructure, cyber, digital or technology environments would be beneficial, but not essential.
