Reporting to Sr. Manager, Global Indirect Tax, this position is responsible for managing all aspects of indirect tax including analysis and review of transactional data, compliance oversight, and leading indirect tax projects. The role supports internal and external stakeholders on indirect tax matters, while driving process improvements, system enhancements, and risk mitigation initiatives.
RBI follows a 5 day, in-office work schedule to support collaboration. Successful candidates will be expected to work onsite 5 days per week.
Qualifications:
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel: superior skills required) and SAP.
Strong accounting acumen with business or equivalent University degree with a concentration in accounting.
CPA/accounting designation.
5+ years of industry or accounting firm indirect tax experience.
Strong problem solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-focused and results-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze transactional data to ensure mitigation of indirect tax risk.
Support internal and external stakeholders with indirect tax issues (e.g. invoice processing, billing).
Analyze agreements and non-routine memos from an indirect tax perspective and communicate tax risks and savings opportunities.
Monitor and interpret indirect tax legislative changes; support implementation across systems and processes.
Support indirect tax audits, including obtaining supporting documentation, issue resolution, and audit responses.
Analyze taxability of new products/services and respond to related business inquiries.
Assist with preparation of indirect tax returns, account reconciliations and journal entries for US and international entities.
Manage multiple indirect tax projects and competing priorities with varying deadlines.
Base salary range of $120,000 – $140,000 CAD. Base salary for this position may vary based on relevant factors such as experience, education, location, and skills.
