POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

WHAT YOU’RE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Maintain and oversee the general ledger including preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, account analysis

Manage month-end and year-end close processes

Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making

Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls

Coordinate and support internal and external audits

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets

Manage and mentor accounting staff (Accounts Payable and Staff Accountant)

Correspond and verbally communicate in a professional manner with customers

Represent the Company in a professional manner, with a high degree of respect for all existing and potential customers

Ad hoc reporting as required

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years of direct experience in accounting capacity.

Language Skills: Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.

Other Skills & Abilities

Reasoning Skills: Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to handle late payments and delinquent accounts. Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records. Strong knowledge of payment regulations and fair credit practices. Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions. Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial reports. Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations. Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

Personal Attributes: Candidate must be customer focused, have good communication skills, and understand quality orientation. Candidates should work well in team environments to be able to solve problems, be accountable and dependable. At the company all employees are expected to have strong ethics and integrity. Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. Excellent teamwork and team building skills. Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.

Computer-Based: Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel. Experience with Business Central or similar ERP system is highly preferred.
