Maternity Leave Contract with Potential for Full-Time Opportunity
David Small Designs is looking for a talented and motivated Interior Designer to join our team in a hybrid role based in Oakville, Ontario. This position is a maternity leave contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time permanent role for the right candidate.
We are seeking someone with 3–5 years of professional interior design experience (excluding co-op placements), who is passionate about residential design, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Participate in client meetings and ongoing client communication
Assist with concept development and presentation preparation
Source and select finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and materials
Prepare drawings, detailing packages, and project coordination documents
Conduct product research and showroom visits
Attend shopping excursions and site visits with clients
Manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
Collaborate closely with the design team throughout all project phases
Qualifications
3–5 years of interior design experience (excluding co-op placements)
Strong knowledge of products, materials, finishes, and fixtures
Experience in residential interior design
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Software Requirements
AutoCAD
SketchUp
Adobe Creative Suite (preferred)
