We're Hiring: Special Education Teacher

Location: Mountainside NJ

Employment Type: Full Time In Person

Department: Education Services

The current hiring range for this position is: $60,587-$90,000. Based on years of experience.

Responsibilities:

How You Can Make a Real Impact:

The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for planning, monitoring and implementing an instructional lesson plan, of high quality, that is in alignment with the NJ Student Learning Standards in all core subjects. Ability to make appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with multiple disabilities.

Assess students’ individual abilities and create customized lessons plans

Address specific Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and encourage skill-building

Review IEPs to ensure goals are appropriate and recommend modifications

Provide training for parents, in the classroom and at home

Communicate with students, families, and guardians

Qualifications:

We’re Hiring Compassionate Team Members Who:

Have a Bachelor’s degree

Are eligible for teaching certification, such as “NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities” or “Teacher of the Handicapped”

Are eligible for highly-qualified Teacher status

Have effective teaching, facilitation, and communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one year of experience teaching Special Education

Knowledge of teaching methods designed for students with learning, physical, and behavior disabilities
