Job Title: West Valley Certified Special Education Teacher (Homebound K-12)

Location: West Valley Area

Pay: $28.00 – $34.00 per hour with SpEd Cert

Job Type: Part-Time (10-25 hrs per week)

Who We Are: Goodwin Learning Academy (GLA) is an Arizona-approved private special education school serving students with diverse learning, behavioral, developmental, and social-emotional needs. We provide individualized educational services through on-campus, virtual, and home-based instruction models designed to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

We are currently seeking a passionate, experienced, and highly skilled Certified Special Education Teacher to provide homebound educational services to students with Intellectual Disabilities (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Moderate to Severe Developmental Disabilities.

This position is ideal for educators who believe every student is capable of growth and who are committed to meeting learners where they are through individualized, relationship-driven instruction.

Position Overview: The Special Education Teacher will primarily provide individualized instruction in students' homes, with opportunities to support learners in ABA clinics, community-based settings, and virtual environments as needed. This unique position offers variety, flexibility, and the ability to make a meaningful impact across multiple learning environments while delivering personalized educational services tailored to each student's needs.

Instruction is highly individualized and focused on academic achievement, functional skill development, social-emotional growth, and increasing student independence. Teachers collaborate closely with families, related service providers, and school staff to ensure students receive comprehensive, high-quality educational support.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with students who may present with significant cognitive, communication, adaptive, behavioral, and social-emotional needs, including students with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other developmental disabilities.

Duties:

Provide individualized special education instruction in students' homes.

Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to students’ individual needs.

Collect and maintain accurate progress-monitoring data.

Collaborate with parents, related service providers, and school administration.

Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and accommodations.

Maintain professional documentation and compliance records.

Foster positive relationships with students and families.

Support student behavioral, communication, and adaptive skill development.

Must be able to deliver instruction in:

Functional Academics

Reading, Literacy, & Mathematics

Social-Emotional Learning

Executive Functioning Skills

Adaptive and Daily Living Skills (if applicable)

Communication and Social Skills Development (if applicable)

Must-Have Qualifications:

Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate.

Experience working with students with: Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Disabilities, & Multiple Disabilities.

Strong understanding of IEP/ILP implementation and progress monitoring.

Experience with AAC devices and alternative communication systems.

Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.

Experience implementing behavior support plans.

CPI or similar crisis intervention training.

Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to student homes within the West Valley area.

Ability to pass all required background checks and fingerprint clearance requirements.
