Little Scholars Academy is seeking three enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated Preschool Teachers to join our growing team. Positions are available at both our Los Angeles and Long Beach locations, serving children ages 2 to 5 years old.

Position Summary
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support children's cognitive, language, literacy, math, physical, creative, and social-emotional development.
Teachers are expected to create engaging classroom environments, maintain strong family partnerships, complete assessments, and ensure compliance with all licensing and program requirements.
Essential ResponsibilitiesChild Development and Education
Create a nurturing, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
Plan and implement engaging learning experiences that support school readiness and whole-child development.
Encourage children's curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Support positive social-emotional development through positive guidance and relationship-building.
Promote independence, self-help skills, and confidence.
Provide active supervision and ensure children's safety at all times.
Curriculum and Assessment
Implement curriculum aligned with The Creative Curriculum.
Develop weekly lesson plans that reflect children's interests and developmental needs.
Incorporate literacy, mathematics, science, art, music, movement, and social-emotional learning throughout the day.
Conduct ongoing observations and assessments using the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP).
Utilize assessment data to individualize instruction and support children's growth.
Maintain accurate documentation and child portfolios.
Classroom Environment
Create inviting learning centers that encourage exploration and hands-on learning.
Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
Rotate materials and learning experiences to support children's interests and developmental goals.
Display children's work and celebrate their accomplishments.
Family Engagement
Build positive and professional relationships with families.
Communicate regularly regarding children's progress, accomplishments, and classroom activities.
Utilize Learning Genie for daily communication, observations, and family engagement.
Participate in parent conferences, family events, and school activities.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
Follow all Community Care Licensing, Title 22, Title 5, CACFP, and NAEYC requirements.
Conduct daily health screenings and monitor children's well-being.
Maintain classroom sanitation and health practices.
Participate in emergency drills and safety procedures.
Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
Ensure classroom compliance with all applicable regulations and program standards.
Professional Responsibilities
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to support program goals.
Participate in quality improvement efforts, classroom observations, and accreditation activities.
Support implementation of DRDP, CLASS, ERS, ASQ-3, and ASQ-SE practices.
Maintain professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Minimum of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university.
Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher preferred.
Candidates who meet educational requirements and are willing to obtain a California Child Development Permit are encouraged to apply.
Experience working with preschool-age children in a licensed childcare or educational setting preferred.
Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain prior to employment.
Current LIC 503 Health Screening with physician clearance.
Current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate.
DOJ, FBI, and Child Abuse Index clearance through Live Scan and Community Care Licensing.
Proof of required immunizations, including MMR and Tdap.
Ability to meet all Title 22 and Title 5 requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
Child Development Teacher Permit, Master Teacher Permit, Site Supervisor Permit, or higher.
Experience with state-funded preschool programs.
Experience with DRDP assessments and school readiness planning.
Experience in NAEYC-accredited programs.
Familiarity with CLASS, ERS, ASQ-3, and ASQ-SE.
Bilingual English and Spanish.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry children up to 40 pounds.
Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, bend, squat, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
Ability to move classroom equipment, learning materials, and furniture as needed.
Ability to actively supervise children in all learning environments.
