Wine Educator

Position Summary

Opolo is seeking a full-time Wine Educator to join our team. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for wine and a talent for creating exceptional guest experiences. While prior wine knowledge is preferred, a strong willingness to learn, initiative, and motivation are equally valued. Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $18.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience) + tips

Essential Functions

Represent Opolo in a positive, professional manner while delivering a warm and welcoming guest experience

Share the story of Opolo and our wines with enthusiasm and passion

Execute effective sales strategies to drive wine and wine club membership sales while maintaining hospitality standards

Provide guests with an exceptional and memorable tasting experience

Conduct educational tours, bar tastings, and table-side tastings

Build relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits and long-term loyalty

Present wine club benefits and support acquisition and retention of members

Maintain a professional and team-oriented approach with coworkers and guests

Follow daily opening and closing checklists to ensure operational consistency

Operate cash registers and credit card terminals accurately and efficiently

Stock merchandise and assist with general inventory and supplies

Complete cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, glassware care, and restroom upkeep

Support special events, VIP experiences, and private tastings/dinners

Contribute to team efforts and assist with additional duties as needed

· Other assignments as needed.

Working Conditions

Weekend and holiday availability required

Occasional extended hours during peak seasons and events

Physical work including prolonged standing, lifting, and dishwashing

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older

Positive attitude with a strong work ethic

Hospitality-minded with excellent communication and customer service skills

Strong attention to detail with accuracy and efficiency

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly (case of wine)

Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day)

Availability for weekends, holidays, and peak season scheduling

Food Handler and RBS certification required within 30 days of hire

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
