Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an Acquisition Execution and Program Management Support Specialist supporting SAF/SQ (Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration) position. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of individuals committed to driving success.
The ideal candidate will provide acquisition and program management support to assist in the planning, execution, and oversight of the Department of the Air Force space acquisition programs. This role supports SAF/SQ leadership by coordinating acquisition activities, monitoring program performance, and ensuring alignment with Department of War (DoW) and Department of the Air Force acquisition policies and procedures.
The specialist works with program offices, acquisition stakeholders, and headquarters staff to support program planning, documentation, execution tracking, and reporting activities related to Air Force and U.S. Space Force space acquisition initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The Acquisition Execution and Support and Program Management will:
Provide acquisition execution and program management support for space acquisition programs and initiatives within SAF/SQ
Assist in the development and coordination of acquisition documentation, including acquisition strategies, program plans, and milestone documentation
Support monitoring and tracking of program cost, schedule, and performance metrics to ensure program objectives are met
Coordinate with program management offices, acquisition teams, and headquarters organizations to support program execution and reporting requirements
Assist with preparation of program reviews, leadership briefings, and status reports for senior Department of the Air Force leadership
Support planning and coordination of program milestones, acquisition reviews, and decision events
Track and manage program documentation, action items, and taskers to support acquisition program execution
Assist in the development and maintenance of program management artifacts, including schedules, risk registers, and performance metrics
Support coordination with financial management, contracting, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure integrated program execution
Monitor compliance with DoW and Department of the Air Force acquisition policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
Requirements:
Skills and Experience
The Acquisition Execution and Support and Program Management must have:
Active TS/SCI
Experience supporting acquisition programs, program management offices (PMOs), or program execution activities in a DoD, Air Force, or Space Force environment
Knowledge of the DoD acquisition framework, program lifecycle management, and acquisition policies
Familiarity with program management processes, including cost, schedule, and performance management
Experience supporting development of acquisition documentation, program plans, and milestone packages
Ability to track and analyze program performance metrics and program management data
Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders including program offices, contracting teams, and financial management organizations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare briefings, reports, and executive summaries
Ability to manage multiple priorities and support complex acquisition activities in a headquarters environment
Experience supporting space acquisition or national security space programs
Education and Certifications
The Acquisition Execution and Support and Program Management must meet the following:
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Program Management, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Public Administration, or Acquisition or Contract Management
Preferred
Master's degree in business administration (MBA), Program Management, Systems Engineering, or a related field
Defense Acquisition Workforce Certification (DAWIA / DAWIA-equivalent) in Program Management or Acquisition
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM)
Program Management or acquisition-related certifications relevant to DoD acquisition environments

Security Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen.
