Bip is a consulting firm born in and for the 21st century. Founded in Italy in 2003, today it employs more than 6,000 professionals worldwide, supporting companies across all industries in achieving Quality at Scale by rethinking their business models and markets.

As part of strengthening our team in the Milan office, we are looking for a:

Associate/Consultant – Energy & Infrastructure Advisory

Role Overview

The Consultant/Analyst will play a core execution and analytical role across live mandates, with direct exposure to senior advisors, clients, and investors. This is not a “support” role: the position requires autonomy, critical thinking, and ownership of complex workstreams, while maintaining the analytical rigor expected in high-stakes financial advisory.

The role sits at the intersection of financial modeling, transaction execution, and strategic problem-solving, with a strong sectoral focus on energy and infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Execution & Financial Analysis

Build and review advanced financial models (DCF, project finance models, LBO-style acquisition models, capital structure and refinancing models) for renewable energy and infrastructure assets

Perform valuation analyses for single assets and platforms, including sensitivity and scenario analyses tailored to market and regulatory risks

Support execution of M&A mandates (buy-side and sell-side), including preparation of teasers, information memoranda, data rooms, and management presentations

Contribute to capital raising processes, coordinating financial analysis, investor materials, and due diligence inputs

Strategic & Sector Analysis

Analyze regulatory frameworks, market dynamics, and revenue mechanisms relevant to energy and infrastructure assets (e.g. merchant risk, long-term contracts, incentives, grid constraints)

Support strategic advisory mandates for developers and IPPs, including bankability assessments, funding strategies, and portfolio optimization

Produce concise, decision-oriented analyses rather than generic market reports

Client & Deal Team Interaction

Act as a key point of reference within deal teams, managing analytical workstreams with limited supervision

Interact with clients, investors, lenders, and technical advisors in a professional and commercially aware manner

Review and challenge assumptions, identifying risks and inconsistencies rather than passively executing instructions

Candidate Profile

Experience

1–4 years of experience in investment banking, financial advisory, infrastructure/energy advisory, project finance, or infrastructure investing

Demonstrated exposure to energy and/or infrastructure transactions; renewables experience is a strong advantage

Technical Skills

Excellent financial modeling skills in Excel; ability to build and audit complex models independently

Strong understanding of capital structures, debt instruments, and project finance mechanics

Ability to synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative information into clear insights

Mindset & Soft Skills

High level of intellectual curiosity and independent judgment; comfortable challenging assumptions, including those of senior stakeholders

Strong sense of ownership and accountability for deliverables and outcomes

Ability to operate effectively in a lean, high-responsibility environment with limited hierarchy

Clear, structured communication skills in English (written and verbal); additional languages are a plus

Why This Role

Direct exposure to live transactions across M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory

Steep learning curve driven by real responsibility, not process bureaucracy

Opportunity to work closely with senior professionals who combine advisory, entrepreneurial, and operational experience

A platform designed for professionals who prefer depth, rigor, and impact over scale and brand signaling
