Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems & Security Engineer to join our organisation in Dublin, Ireland. In this permanent position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure IT infrastructure whilst ensuring the protection of our systems and data against evolving security threats. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with a detail-oriented approach to safeguard our organisation's digital assets and support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line IT support across the organisation

Own and support ERP systems and WFM tools (e.g. Timegate, payroll systems)

Troubleshoot complex technical issues across infrastructure, applications, and networks

Manage and maintain servers, endpoints, and cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure)

Ensure all incidents and changes are logged and tracked in ServiceNow

Act as escalation point for technical issues and support the IT team

Work closely with business stakeholders (HR, Finance, Operations) on system improvements

Cyber Security & Compliance

Support implementation and maintenance of security controls

Participate in ISO 27001 / ISMS activities, audits, and risk assessments

Monitor vulnerabilities and support remediation activities

Ensure adherence to data protection, access control, and security policies

Assist in incident response and security investigations

Network & Infrastructure

Support network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN)

Assist with network troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and upgrades

Work with vendors and service providers on connectivity and infrastructure issues

Support disaster recovery and backup solutions

Data & Reporting

Analyse system and operational data to identify trends and issues

Support reporting requirements across departments

Assist in improving data quality and system usage

Governance & Process

Ensure all work follows IT policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

Maintain accurate documentation of systems, processes, and configurations

Support continuous improvement of IT services and processes

Key Skills & Experience

Strong experience in IT support (1st–3rd line)

Experience with ERP and WFM systems

Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and endpoint management

Understanding of networking (firewalls, VPN, switching)

Strong understanding of cyber security principles and controls

Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow desirable)

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management

Qualifications

Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)

Minimum 3 years' experience in IT support across multiple service levels (1st, 2nd, and 3rd line)

Demonstrated experience with ERP and Workforce Management systems

Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and endpoint management platforms -

Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Associate, ITIL Foundation, or CompTIA Security+ desirable

ISO 27001 awareness or hands-on experience with Information Security Management Systems (ISMS)

Proven experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM ticketing systems -

Experience with network infrastructure management (firewalls, VPN, switching)

Familiarity with incident response procedures and security investigations

Experience in data analysis and reporting for IT operations

Full Clean Driving Licence

Excellent customer service and communication skills
