About the role

Location:

Ireland based ideally but will look at UK

Occasional travel to Dublin HQ & UK site (Oxfordshire & Exeter expected (once/ twice per quarter fly in fly out usually)

Priorities shift quickly. You will context-switch daily, operate with minimal hand-holding. You;ll also be expected to roll up your sleeves across whatever the business needs. Because we are a lean yet highly team driven People Operations team.

What your role actually involves;

You're the connective tissue between our people and our culture. You’re spotting patterns early and designing people focused interventions that actually land. Then you're driving them to completion without over-engineering them.

What this looks like in practice;

Partner with Managers & Leaders & C suite to support Employee relations , performance, retention and capability.

Provide practical support, in line with company policy and employment legislation

Coach and support managers on performance, absence, and employee relations matters

Strengthen manager capability to lead people conversations confidently and effectively

Work collaboratively across HR to ensure policies are practical, up to date, and applied consistently

Contribute to HR compliance, audit activity, and regulatory requirements

Culture & Engagement

Culture doesn’t sustain itself. You will work closely with leaders and managers to keep Deciphex's values alive in everyday working life. Our approach is not a poster on a wall. It’s fundamentally lived in how people are treated and how decisions get made.

In practice this looks like balancing quick wins with longer-term programmes. This includes (but not limited to);

Designing and running engagement initiatives

Facilitating listening sessions across employees and leadership

Turning survey data into prioritised action plans & delivering these

Tracking progress visibly with leadership.

Own & enhance recognition programmes, wellbeing activity, and DEIB & social engagement initiatives = making sure they actively reflect what our people needs

Retention

People stay and perform, where they feel seen, supported, and going somewhere.

You will build genuine relationships across the business, run stay interviews

You'll work directly with managers making sure their teams feel valued and clear on where they are heading.

When you spot a retention risk, whether through data, conversation, or instinct, you will act on it.

You will champion career development conversations and make sure people can see a meaningful future at Deciphex, not just a job

Knowing our Business

Good People Operations & business impact starts with genuinely understanding the business.

You will invest real time across all teams, sitting in on meetings, having informal conversations, building the kind of trust where people tell you what is actually going on.

You will develop a working knowledge of what drives each team, what the pressure points are, and what people need to do their best work.

That insight is what allows you to spot patterns early, connect team-level signals to company-wide themes, and bring the right support before problems escalate.

Making Things Better

Bring a practical, thoughtful approach to people matters taking time to understand the full picture before deciding on the best course of action

Be comfortable working at any level from a supportive one-to-one conversation to designing and delivering a company-wide initiatives

Play an active role in training and development across the business, including HR policy, cultural competency, and supporting manager growth

Follow through on what you commit to. This is a role where people will be counting on you to do what you say you will

What you’ll need to succeed;

HR Degree - UK or Ireland

5-+ years HR experience with the last 2 operating at HRBP level

Strong Irish or UK generalist HR experience across a range of HR areas, operations including; HR operations, employee relations, performance management, people policies etc.

A genuine interest in culture, engagement, and retention

Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice -

either Ireland or UK, bonus if you also have USA.

We use AI daily with strong governance guardrails. Experience using AI tools (e.g Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity) or better yet implementing agentic AI.
