Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in mine data analytics, with experience in mining operations; open-pit mining experience strongly preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic analytics and translate data into actionable business insights.
Hands-on experience with databases, data warehouses, and data lakes, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Synapse SQL Pool, Snowflake, Parquet, and Delta/Parquet in ADLS Gen2; proficiency in SQL, DAX, Python, Databricks and snowflake.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and present technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive decision-making in mining operations.
Develop and maintain high-quality data products and dashboards, ensuring stakeholders have access to near real-time data for informed decision-making.
Leverage data science techniques, including predictive modeling and machine learning, to provide insights that improve operational efficiency and performance.
Promote a data-driven culture within the organization by advocating for data utilization in day-to-day operational decisions.
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for operational improvements through data analysis.
Stay current with evolving data science techniques, tools, and best practices, integrating them into the workflow to continuously enhance analytical capabilities.

Location: This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
Hours of work are a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
